Right- Eric Gordon had better size, and was a better athlete. Just like I was getting at with Ben Gordon before- even though he's not tall too.

But the thing that separates Stephen Curry from Quincy Douby is definitely the bball IQ that Supreme was talking about. Douby is another 6'3, superthin, big time scoring sharpshooter- he just never got to play in the NCAA tourney cause he was on a team in the Big East that had to fight at least half dozen to a dozen national powerhouses for a bid. But Douby never took to distributing quite the same way Curry has.

That said I'm skeptical about whether Curry could ever switch over- the reason Curry is an NBA talent is his shooting, not his PG abilities, so naturally what will make him successful in the NBA is his shooting. He brings a bit more to the floor than someone like Douby did.

What separates Curry from JJ Reddick? I think Curry is a better shooter and a better athlete.

JJ Reddick had a weak brain all along, this was easily observable when he was clamped down in the tourney a few years back. Curry's brain is stronger which is why he suffered no such clamping.

To achieve victory, one must be of a strong brain-- sometimes it is necessary, as a last option, to rely solely on your strong brain to get through a survival situation.

In the above post, i mentioned curry's nba genes. This has a lot to do with how strong his brain is, how geared it is towards victory. there is no shot in heck that curry fails at the nba level.

no, of course not, marv. but my point is that, at least in terms of Brain Strength, they could have done so. to reach the nba one must have a winning brain. curry already has that brain plus he can score a lot of points.

I really think that it's very difficult, if not impossible, to gauge a player's NBA potential from his college performance or physical construct. Sometimes, guys just stand out (think Lebron or Bogut), but most of the players seem to be hit or misses. Gilbert Arenas was picked late in the 2nd round. That said, Curry seems like a pretty good choice because he has NBA genes and he put up a bunch of points on good programs. Plus his mom is very good looking.

can't understate the importance of the MILF

If we are picking #8, Griffin, Derozan, Rubio, Thabeet and possibly Jennings will be gone. If this is the case, I cant knock the Knicks for taking Curry. Who is the bonafied superstar the Knicks will pass over in order to select Curry 8? The only players that may be available that I would seriously consider, are Flynn and Evans.

if all those guys are gone, then i'm totally fine w/taking Curry.

I would really need to see Curry against other pgs, but I really like him. If he can run a team without high turnovers, I think with his shot, nba pedigree, and confidence, he can be a solid player. In a MDA offense, this guy could easily put up 20 pts every game and he will help space the floor once we finally get a consistent low post scorer. The only question with him is can he run an NBA offense. If he can, I take him over just about any other pg other than Rubio.
