That's two awesome examples of having two players that are awesome to watch then you kind of hope they disapear from the face of the Earth once they retire b/c they are those types of people. Isiah has made remarks that are argueable racist and Tim Hardaway ADMITS to be racist towards gays. These guys are going to be taking care of boys for four years and they are going to be going into their families houses to convince their families why they should come to their school.

That's as ugly as it gets.

gotta give guys another chance --- within reason of course. Thats the human spirit. Hopefully they have grown from their missteps. Its not as if they have done something beyond the pale.

And this is a very homophobic nation, so its hard to really go after Tim that hard. He was ostracized and punished.

no f'g way he gets a pass for that. no matter how much you're in love with his crossover and long-range bombs. who wasn't?

I hate Tim Hardaway personally. I tried to get an autograph from him when I was around 10 years old, in the mid-90's, when he was still playing for the Warriors, and he basically told me to f--k off. No agenda here when it comes to Timmy. But at some point you have to hope somebody reforms and learns the errors of his or her ways. People deserve a second chance.

all right. i can get with that.

and yeah i'd hate a guy too who had blown me off at 10 years old. but from a pure bball perpspective this guy was one of my all-time faves. just f'g unconscious with those "skeellzzz." he and chris jackson just mesmerized me with what they could on the court. and tmc was one of my favorite teams till nellie f'd it up.

This is the new coach of FIU:

Yesterday, lawyers for Anucha Browne Sanders flipped a switch, and a giant version of Knick coach and president Isiah Thomas' head filled the courtroom. Thomas appeared on screen, giving a videotaped deposition last December in the sexual-harassment lawsuit filed by Sanders.

As it played, Thomas - face-to-face with himself for the first time - sank in his chair, unable to look.

Onscreen, Thomas was asked about an incident in which a male Knick employee, who was white, was said to have called Sanders, who is black, a bitch. Was he aware that such language would violate the employee code of conduct?

Isiah got so animated, he interrupted the questioner.

"It would have violated my code of conduct," he harrumphed.

"A white man calling a black woman a bitch . . . That is a problem for me - screw this conduct thing!"

Then, he was asked if he took offense at a black male who called a black woman a bitch.

"Not as much," Isiah said. "I'm sorry to say. I do make a distinction."

"A white male calling a black female a bitch is highly offensive to me."

Just when you think things can't get any more bizarre, Thomas, according to a season-ticket holder, blamed the fans for being "a bad sixth man" during the Knicks' 99-89 loss to the Mavericks.

On several occasions, the Knicks' embattled coach could be seen talking to fans at center court near the Knicks' bench. Longtime season-ticket holder Mara Altschuler claimed that Thomas blamed the fans for the Knicks' problems. When some fans began chanting Jeff Van Gundy's name, Thomas replied, "You ran him out of here as well," according to Altschuler.

Thomas later appeared surprised when asked about his conversations with fans. He didn't deny them but rather gave a convoluted answer that didn't exactly clear things up. "I was just, uh, trying to make sure, um, that we kept the team together and we stayed focused on what we were doing and trying to win a basketball game," Thomas said. "Our fans are great. They support us and they show up and we're glad they're here."
Talks have begun for the annual Father of the Year award given to the Father that has displayed the most shocking abuse of the title and duties inherent on bringing life into this word. The early front-runner: New York Knicks former head coach Isiah Thomas.

Per the Associated Press: "Authorities were called early Friday to Thomas' Westchester County home, where police said a 47-year-old man was taken to the hospital and treated for an overdose of sleeping pills.

"Several media outlets reported that police confirmed it was Thomas who went to the hospital. But reached on his cellphone Friday, the 47-year-old NBA great told the New York Post he had not been treated for a sleeping pill overdose, and that it was 17-year-old daughter Lauren who had a medical issue.

"It wasn't an overdose," he told the newspaper. "My daughter is very down right now. None of us are OK." Hall forcefully refuted Thomas' statement. "My cops...know the difference between a 47-year-old black male and a young black female," Hall said.

Isiah Thomas the coach Isiah Thomas the father Trick question: they both suck vote to see results Thomas has a past history of other such inconsistencies and scape-goating. Along with this are the rumors that might as well be true due to Thomas being a total douche bag:

In December of 2003, while attending a Sunday church service, Thomas pretended to put a bill in the collection dish, instead taking out a $20 then pretended to scratch his chest as he dropped the bill back inside his coat pocket. When the man next to him gave him a “what the f*** look” Thomas whispered that it was for his wife’s Methadone prescription.

In April of 2004 Thomas was pulled over for going 85 in a 35 mph zone. Instead of admitting guilt, he stabbed his daughter in the shoulder and when the officer came to his window said that his daughter had been assaulted by a maniac. To his credit, this was not a lie.

In June 2004 Thomas blamed his dog Patches on not one but two farts that Thomas himself had let out, but refused to admit to.

In July of 2005 when having a conversation with a coworker Thomas was asked if he had seen the movie Gladiator. Instead of admitting that he hadn’t he said he had. The coworker caught him in the lie when Thomas said his favorite scene was when “Gladiator shot the bad guy,” Thomas blamed his wife’s constant (and nonexistent) epileptic seizures on his inability to follow the plot line.

In January of 2006 Thomas spilled hot coffee on his crotch, receiving sever burns to his genitals. When he tried to sue the coffee franchise the was shown the label on the lid warning that the coffee was hot. Thomas blamed the public school system on his lack of basic reading skills.

Thomas’ long history of placing blame on everyone from his own family to his employees and players is well documented, leaving just one question: Is anyone really surprised by what this douche bag does anymore?

What an awkward introduction and press conference....

I heard on Sportscenter this morning he is still getting $12 million from the Knicks over the next 2 years - can anyone confirm this?

We fired him in the middle of his contract. I don't know the exact figure but that one doesn't sound too surprising. I'm ESPN checked the #s before stating them.

I know no one wants to give Isiah credit for anything but he is donating his entire FIU coaching salary to charity. I'll give him credit for that.

donating it back to the FIU athletic dept, right? it's definitely a nice gesture, although it's easier for him to do when he'll still be collecting millions from the Knicks for a year or two

Can't knock him for doing that. It's admirable no matter how much money he has in in the bank. Not many people willing to donate that much. That being said, he could rebuild Africa with his bare hands, feed starving children around the globe and create world peace. I'm still going to hate what he did here
I just hope that people will like me

Hiring of Thomas Angers Faculty at Florida International
Published: April 16, 2009
The former Knicks coach Isiah Thomas will be greeted in his new job at Florida International University with a reminder of his past.

Laurie Shrage, the director of women’s studies and a philosophy professor at the university, said she and some of her colleagues planned to hand-deliver to Thomas a copy of the university’s sexual harassment policy.

“Given that a federal district jury found he sexually harassed a colleague and created a hostile working environment, this hire sends the wrong message about F.I.U.’s commitment to the success of all students, faculty, and staff, regardless of their gender,” Shrage said in an e-mail message.

Thomas was the focus of a sexual discrimination case in which a federal jury awarded a former Knicks executive more than $11 million.

Shrage said the women’s studies department wanted to find “constructive rather than destructive” ways for people to “channel their anger” about the hiring.

That includes a planned teach-in in which experts in sexual harassment will speak on campus and a plea to the university’s next president to issue a statement about a commitment to its sexual harassment policy. “This is an opportunity to educate the campus about why sexual harassment is a serious issue,” Shrage said, “and have Coach Thomas, the athletic director and our new president indicate where they stand and what their values are.”

Thomas and Athletic Director Pete Garcia did not return calls requesting comment.

Its good publicity. They guy is getting paid 6 mil per year by knicks, his reputation is ****, and this is the snake oil salesmans way of earning some good grace. Phucker gets a huge tax write off!

Trust me, this guy is gone when he can get an upgraded job. I can't see how he can get recruits of quality.

I think this is just his way to get to meet some "milf's".
