Last year I was sold on two guys EG and Courtney Lee as a sleeper. There were a lot of other decent players. With the exception of Blake this draft doesnt really excite me and I think it is one of the weakest drafts in years. I like Cole aldrich and BJ Mullens and my sleeper is Ed Davis but he wont come out of the draft. If he did he is a top 15 pick

I dont think it's great either but I think that if you are savvy--you can walk away happy in the LONG run. We need a C so bad and I think Mullens will be much better than people think. He can finish in the nBA right now especially in this fast paced system. If my three guys are gone I would be willing to use my lottery pick on him--I dont care what others say. It's very difficult--you can go back and forth on some issues with the team. We are REALLY small that keeps going through my mind. Mullens would make us a LOT bigger very quickly for a LONG time. If Mullens stayed in school he would go top 3 next year. We really need some interior presence. What I think differentiates Cole and Mullens is I think Mullens will eventually be a better NBA scorer. He scores VERY easily. He's not as polished as Cole but I think he will project differently than Cole in the nBA in terms of how the guy puts the ball in the bucket. He needs a lot of work on the D Aldrich is miles ahead. But you can work with 7-1 275

Walsh has got to realize we need size. It wont be easy but I feel it is POSSIBLE we can get two from this group. How can we get going without size? Is it me or have we been a small team for like 9 years?

We're not going to win the lottery so we can stop the Griffin talk.

we have about an 8% chance of getting 2/3.

if we can somehow get the #2 or #3 i'd take Derozan... i think other than Blake Griffin, that kid's got the most potential to be a franchise changing type player

My camp is

1 Griffin
2 Evans
3 DErozan
4 trade down to get Mullens and and an extra pick this year or next year[he is going to surprise people with his offensive skills I think right away and we need a big guy so badly I think they can teach him defense but he's an NBA finisher today. Now will he work hard in the offseason and is he tough willed---I think he looks like he is. Hes got a bit of a tude.

The best scenario would be to get Griffin and Mullens:) by luck and trade.

If you look at the board 8-15 those teams in between dont need a C. Chicago owns picks 15 and 25. If those top3 guys are not there--we may be able to swing a deal with Chicago where we move down to 15+25 and they move up to 8. Mullens *should* slide to 15 and I think we can find a real decent player at 25.The problem is at 7-1 275 and hes getting a head start on training ONE workout with ONE team could change the deal. I would say that I *might* be willing to pull the trigger on him at 8-9 IF the other guys are not there to be safe. I want the upper tier talent but if it's not there I want the big man. And I would be taking Evans as my PG not a SG.

i haven't seen enough of Evans but do u really think he's got more upside than Derozan? are u thinking Brandon Roy type potential there?

if we don't land a top 7 pick & none of the guys i want are on the table, i'd prefer trading down for an extra late round pick & taking Mullens & the best G we can get our hands on, whether he's a PG like Maynor or a shooter like Dionte Christmas... unless Walsh buys an extra late round pick but that scenario seems less likely to me... maybe someone like Brandon Jennings slides down to us at #8 & we can buy an extra pick to take Mullens later in the 1st round, but that seems way optimistic considering the crappy luck we've had in past years.

alot probably depends on what Walsh decides to do w/Nate.

let me pose this hypothetical, if Cole Aldrich, Brandon Jennings, Jeff Teague & Willie Warren are available where we pick, do u take 1 of those guys (& which) or do u trade down for Mullens & another pick?

We have multiple needs. We need a C a PG more athletic ability from the wing. I don't separate Derozan and Evans by much--different ballplayers but both have the tools to be great pros. It's like picking ice cream at the store--you like 3-4 flavors--but which one do you choose. I think what prompts me to take Evans slightly over Deroan[not by much] is his handle. I really think he can play PG--now there is going to be some transition for him because he would have to be much more of a willing passer. But I like his size he's got long arms in a strong body with good athletic ability and a world of skills. He uses that dribble to get separation at will. His jumpshot will only get better He just has the look of a big time player who can be a mismatch nightmare at 1.

Im on the fence about whether you pick Rubio or Griffin in that situation.

If we ever picked Rubio over Griffin we would be looked as we are now--the stupidest franchise going. No one would give us a pass on that one. You take Griffin and be thankful for God we got him. Even if we kept David Lee at C and added Blake Griffin at PF and got Nash for the MLE--with a few small moves we would be title contenders right away. Ricky Rubio guarantees me nothing.
Briggs... thats a no brainer.

Rubio is bigger and more athletic than you give him credit for. that being said Griffin is such a no brainer at #1 any discussion otherwise is silly. Walsh and MDA wouldnt pass on a big that can pass shoot handle and do everything like Griffin. Griffin is the closest thing to Tim Duncan since Tim Duncan. Nobdy is talking about passing on him and nobody will.

Derozen could very much be another great athletic guy that plays a good stretch of games or showings into a good run up the draft boards only to fizzle. A handful do it every year. The thing that had you drooling over Bogut was how he played Duncan to a standstill. The best pros in the NBA came away all talking about how good some kid named Ricky Rubio is. On top of all that he plays the team game first. He's about as close to a sure thing top notch PG as you can get.

Thats why I say this is a two player draft. 1) Griffin 2) Rubio 3) Hill (who will be good but not great) and 4) take your pick
