Blake Griffin
Ricky Rubio
Jordan Hill
James Harden
Brandon Jennings
Demar Derozan
Hasheem Thabeet
Jeff Teague
Craig Brackens
BJ Mullens
Chase Budinger
Stephen Curry
etc.

seems like a pretty deep draft if u ask me.
I see 3 good pros there... Harden, Griffin and Curry. The rest are bench players if they make in the league.

If it allowed us to resign Nate and Lee this is one time I would dump the pick to move JJSkinny and Curry

I disagree about Jennings, Derozen, Thabeet, Teague, Brackens being bench players. While I don't think Thabeet will be as productive as Briggs does in the NBA, I do think that he'll be a good defensive and starting player. Teague is going to be a solid combo-guard in the NBA and Jennings/DeRozan have star power potential.

agree w/nyk here... i could have also added guys like Willie Warren, Earl Clark, Darren Collison, Dionte Christmas to the list too who have a decent shot of becoming more than just bench role players in this league

while this draft may be a little weak on superstar calibre talent, i think there's a lotta good young prospects that can be very good players in the NBA on a D Lee & Nate Robinson level when it's all said & done... for example, i've watched more than a few of his games this season & i dunno how u can tell me after watching him play that Jordan Hill can't grow into a player on that level... he can make an impact on both ends of the floor, he's an athletic beast w/springs in his legs who's an excellent finisher just like D Lee & his offensive game is just as polished if not moreso already... he needs work on his court awareness & passing but overall this kid has the goods IMO... i think you guys are really sleeping on some of these prospects personally.

watching the Temple vs. Duquesne game right now... damn, Dionte Christmas can really stroke that J & has a real quick release on his shot & can shoot both off the dribble & on a stepback fadeaway... 20 pts. already in the 1st half w/6 made 3's... another kid that can add some nice depth to this team if we were somehow able to add an extra late pick.

I can't even watch the A10 tournament after URI choked against Duquesne..

he finished w/29 pts but made some key shots to help the Owls beat the Dukes... he's got nice size at the SG position, a legit 6'5" 205 lber... looking at his stats seems like he levelled off after his sophomore year so probably not all that much upside to this kid, but w/a 2nd round or late 1st round pick i don't think he's that bad a gamble to take.

Derozan just completely outplayed James Harden leading his team to the Pac10 championship... kid's stock is rising... we might not even be able to draft him by the time the NCAA tourney ends at this rate.

That's fine. If Derozan goes up, we'll have a better shot at Warren or Maynor.

I'm more worried about how high our draft pick gets. If we slip out of the top 12 I think we have to try to trade for something higher.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

i would much rather have Derozan than Warren... dunno much about Maynor... i agree w/u about trading up... the way this team's playing right now it doesn't look like we're gonna have a legit shot at a top 10 pick this year... if we can't move up then i would at least like to buy a late round pick to add some depth to the roster for the longterm seeing as tho so many guys are expiring after next season anyway.

Derozan's impressive. I'm just saying that there's a group of guys good enough where I wouldn't be too upset with any of them, then there's the Mullens/Holiday/Teague tier and then the Calathes/Jordan/Lawson group towards the end of the 1st.

I'm pumped to see who we reload with.

Did anybody see that Rubio was, I think, named defensive player of the year in his league? Maybe defensive 1st team or something.

yeah, there's lots of attractive choices available in this draft... if Donnie plays his cards right he might be able to nab one of the better ones at least... & even if he can't there's a good second tier of talent that would make fine role players in this system as well who we could easily pick up by buying an extra pick... let's consider who'll be on this roster next season as it stands now:

Larry Hughes (expiring)
Eddy Curry
Al Harrington (expiring)
Quentin Richardson (expiring)
Jared Jeffries
Chris Duhon (expiring)
Danilo Gallinari
Wilson Chandler

that's 8 players currently under contract for next season, 4 of them expirings... not sure if we still have the Mobley medical trade exception to use or not... if Donnie swings some kind of 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trade in the offseason, then there will be roles available for young guys to come in & get some burn... IMO if he decides to extend Lee & Nate w/the thought of holding onto them longterm, or if he trades them in sign & trade deals, is the key to this offseason in terms of what will happen w/draft picks.

Reminds me a little of H20. He's constantly square to the basket ready to shoot. He can post and shoot, shoot from deep, he's really good. I want to see more full games of his to see his defense.

I'm completely biased, but the more I watch Flynn, the more I could see him as a backup guard in our offense. The way he sets up Rautins and Devendorf is exactly what you'd hope a guard would do on our team.

Isiah is helping with the draft. Hooray! And we scouted the Pac10 games. Hooray!

Isiah Thomas says he's doing OK and helping the Knicks prepare for the NBA draft. Thomas said yesterday that everything has been going well for him personally. "I've still been very active, seeing a lot of games and doing a lot of scouting and looking forward to helping [Knicks president Donnie Walsh] with the draft," Thomas told The Associated Press. Thomas was fired late last season from his positions as coach and team president, but Walsh kept him on in a consulting and advising role. Thomas was in Las Vegas to tape a television appearance with Bob Knight, his former coach at Indiana, and sportscaster Billy Packer. Thomas said he was scouting at the Pac-10 Tournament last week in Los Angeles.

1 thing i'm encouraged about that is that he usually gets enamored w/young, athletic freaky specimen type prospects, so hopefully that'll mean he'll advise Donnie to look long & hard at the kid from Compton, Derozan.

If he was scouting that tourney he could have been looking at;

Derozan
Hill
Holiday
Collison
Buddinger
Harden

Not a bad group.

Im going to say the Knicks would be quite interested in Jeff Pendergraph IF they can pick up another 1st rounder between 18-24. He has the best mid range jumpshot in college basketball and he's 6-9.5 245 with excellent hops and long arms. Perfect player for the pick and pop and his athletic ability will translate much better at the NBA. He could really help the team

Gottlieb just had a great quote: "Buddinger can't guard that chair you're sitting on."

Ultimately, if we have picks in the 10 range and buy one in the 20 range, then how can we not do this...

Knicks starting backcourt... Christmas - Holiday

I mean... it's just sitting out there and how could it be more perfect?

Grandmas all over the tristate area would love it. OK, maybe not the Jewish grandmas, but all of the other ones.
