I don't know how much the team saved, but I don't like the idea of Marbury being free to help the Celtics. Maybe Walsh was able to negotiate a future favor from Ainge for letting Marbury go so that the team gets something in return.

exactly... he could have been great here, instead he was a total d-bag. His second year here I remember him repeated getting beat off the dribble than turning and giving Nazr nasty looks for not helping. Then on the otherside of the court not passing him the ball. I'm glad he's gone. Now the Celtics will go south and we can start winning 50 games like every other team after he leaves

Week one: Hey my dog KG!!!! Yeah, THE TRUTH! Ray Ray, they scared now! Who the PHuch is Dennis Johnson???? What the Phuch has he ever done!!!! Week Two: Im just trying to fit in, see where players want things, trying to get in shape. Me and Doc are cool. Its all good. Its all love. Lobster rolls for breakfast. Its Incrustational.

Week Three: Coming off the bench is new to me, Im trying to find my timing. The towels are not soft here. My feet hurt.

Week 4: Lobster is great, the chowder is great. Boston is great. Im feeling the love. Too bad we are .500 since I got here.

Week 5: Hi! THis is Gonslaves. My cuz. He needs a job. THe playoffs start soon, told you im a winnah!!!!

week 6: My ankle hurts. Its gonna take time.

Week 7: I am hoping to play the next series! Doc and me are cool. You got some lobster man?

Week 8: See, we won a series!!! Im in the spirit, can you feel it? The love, its all around. YOu seem the movie ghost? Thats the celtic spirit man, the ghost of Bill Russell runs thru me. Legal Seafoods is great! I love the Chowder. We gotta bring this stuff to coney Island.

Weeek 9: I wuz just kidding, I knew Bill Russell was not dead!

Week 10: The Magic are good!

Week 11: This was lots of fun! I never got the ball, Im gonna weigh my options, sell some kicks in Baltics, see what happens.

Week 12: Hello, Rosetta Stone, I need some Italy lessons.

A few things I want to add:

Isles, I've respected your opinion for a long time, but I think you're being silly. I'm going to assume you're kidding, because if not, you're simply being a tool.

Nalod, funny you mention Rosetta Stone -- one of my friends, from a previous company, works there. I'll have to call him and ask him if they make a dumbed down version of the Italian lessons for the delusional. I fear that the regular lessons may not work so well for Mr. Marbs.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

We only got 23 wins and it might have made D Lee and Nates value a little lower so we could have made a better resign deal with them. I can't see why everyone is jumping for joy and once again we got screwed again while Marbs just might get a ring and may play against us so who really gets the last laugh?? Marbs does and we can go in denial and dont care when we really do and if we don't care, then thats why we are in the situration we are in today. We give everything away for free just because we are mad and we take back garbage.

I think Walsh has all the right to worry about the knicks facing celts in 1st round and the possibility that marbury could make a difference in the series and end up hurting them.

The problem is those teams actually traded Marbury and got something in return. All we did was buy him out, so do we still get the good karma?

Steph should've been dealt/deactivated and dealt anytime following the 04 season to the start of this one.

As of now, Steph is in no position to bring whatever team signs him down this season for the same reason he was in no position to do it here, he is no longer a cash cow as far as tix sales and merchandising plus he is coming off an injury shortened drama filled year and playing for a new contract.

Ball has been in whoever signs the checks court regarding Steph since the 07-08 season ended with no extension in sight

What did we get for him? He came off the books. Unless a deal really fell into our laps why take on salary anymore?

Marbury gave up 2mil. So he finally figured it out. He wants his freedom, he had to pay for it. No player gets full money and a chance to play somewhere. They all take a cut and move on.

What did we get? Nothing.

There was nothing to be gained, but we kept our options open. Unless he was willing to take a cut why grant him a favor. He really did not even come close to living up to his contract. He was a disaster.

He did squat for us but cause controversy and torpedo seasons. I can't root for him and I really want whatever team he goes to to lose just because I don't like him at all! That being said, if he goes to a team, plays his arse off, does what the coach says and behaves and they win a title, he deserves it like everyone else on the team.

On a side note, if he does win a title:
1.) he is going to be insufferable
2.) Nothing worse than a guy destroying your team for 3 years and then winning a title. That would eat at me.
