Get it done Walsh Lee Malik and Gallinari for Stoudemire

I would still rather see us move Lee for a young prospect and a high draft pick. A team like Seattle would be an ideal trade partner. Trade Lee to them for their 2009 1st round pick and Chris Wilcox. That move saves us a boatload of money and gives us a competent PF. With Seattle and our own pick, we have two chances to get Blake Griffin. Plus, with the added cap space, we should be able to afford to sign Stoudemire and Lebron in 2010. In the longrun, we are better off trading Lee for other assets and trying to sign Stoudemire as a FA.

Why would Okla give up a potential shot at drafting Blake Griffin themseleves, who plays in thier own back yard and has the potential to be better than Lee....for Lee? Dont see it.

Well, it is a matter of risk. You can get Lee now for sure or you can chance getting Griffin and end up missing out on Griffin and Lee. Plus, while Griffin looks like a future star, there is always a risk that a college player will not pan out in the pros. I am not saying Okla would jump at the deal, but I would think they would at least consider it. Another team to look at is Memphis. They wanted Lee prior to the start of the season. If they traded for Lee, I think they would have the right to match any offer that Lee got this summer. Adding Lee to that team would really solidify their lineup. Conley, Mayo, Gay, Lee, and Gasol is a solid starting five that could grow together.

Walsh needs to get this deal done.

Lee, Nate & Marbury >>>> Anderson, YI, Simmons & a 1st rounder from the Nets or Dallas

first we won't have anyone who will appeal to guys like Lebron or Wade if we trade Lee... now no one wants to give up Lee in a trade to land a stud like Amare.

i'm confused... are we actually trying to land better players by using our assets or is the goal to keep going w/what we have & hope 1 of them turns out to be a superstar someday by some freak miracle?

Amare's not gonna appeal to Lebron? I don't know much about Amare's reputation regarding his personality. However, just in terms of what they can do on the court, I'd rather join a team with Amare than Lee as the #2 player. That's nothing against Lee. I'd just rather have the 25/10/2 blocks player.

NO, that is the Nets deal for Amare I read today versus the Knicks deal for Amare that was suggested 2 or 3 days ago.

I'm saying our deal is better then the Nets Deal for Amare..........

well that's my point... people are getting all wishy washy all of a sudden just because Amare's not a boyscout like Lee is... the guy's a stud, plain & simple... i don't see how u can expect to land more in a trade if you're the Knicks... we're not talking about an aging past his prime player making a bloated contract here... i think you'd be nuts to pass up a deal to get Amare if all you were giving up was David Lee, Al Harrington & some expiring contracts for example.

I'll leave this one to MDA. He knows the kid and what motivates him.

ANd if the system makes him, then the system it is.

Knicks need to get in on this Amare trade. They need his presence at Center. If they can find a way to land Amare without giving up Lee it would be awesome. They need him in the worst way.

the only way to land Amare w/o giving up Lee is to give up Gallo or Chandler plus our 1st round pick this year unprotected IMO... i'd rather we held onto those assets & give up Lee cuz he's due a big contract extension anyway & we need to preserve whatever flexibility we have in 2010 to attract a top FA.

I would like to not give up Lee but if the Knicks had to I wouldn't mind. Why not just send Marbury for Amare because this is all about financial situation with the Suns. It has nothing to do with Amare wanting out it has everything to do with a fire sale because of ecomomic situation of the franchise. Harrington, Malik and Lee might be a good move also for the Suns. the Knicks get a stud center/pf and they still have enough players on the roster to make things work.

we ain't getting Amare for Marbs man, come on... Harrington, Malik & Lee is probably more of what you're looking at for both sides... Suns aren't just gonna give away their best player for cap space & nothing else.

Cap space is a vital thing in the NBA. You have to remember what the Suns accomplished when they ripped the Knicks off with the Marbury trade.

what is cap space in '09 gonna land the Suns? Allen Iverson? other than him who is gonna be out there that's worth dumping your best player for?

Suns are setting fast in the west (great pun!) and bleeding cash. Tix renewals for next year are gonna be soft. They got 35mil tied to two players.

This is not about the suns trying to get under for a FA, but get young cheap talent.

Mr Double Double Lee with Marbury saves them a bunch of money. Lee next to shaq might actually be an improvement for what they are doing. Lee gets things done.

I don't want to get rid of Lee. Maybe we need to think about Lee and Lebron being a nice tandem!

But if Walsh and MDA think this is a good Idea, then they should try.

I think it's becoming sacrilegious to trade David Lee. Every time I have even a shred of doubt the kid comes out with a better performance. If we trade him the basketball Gods will strike us down for another decade. So shall it be written--so shall it be done. Keep David Lee

Lee has gone from being a trade throw in to an bonafide Double double machine. Not a chisled go to guy but the guy who runs, rebounds and cleans up pretty darn good. He is our Oakley. Oak had some serious flaws in his game, and playing next to Ewing didn't hurt. Put Oak out there as your center and his flaws would be magnified.

My point is what would happen if we put the right players with Lee?

Oak was very good on the defensive side. That is where Lee is flawed. But Lee has improved vastly on the offensive side. Teaming Lee with Amare might be a good tandem.
