i dunno if u realize it or not but i was actually poking fun at the idiocy of stereotyping Euro players... i wasn't trying to offend any Euros on this forum... if u took it that way i apologize, but u would understand the humor behind this if u had been around when some of us were defending Gallo against those who called him a bust of a pick based on nothing much more than the fact that he's a Euro player.

again, i apologize if u thought i was ragging on Euros but i was actually poking fun at the morons who used those stereotypes to begin with.

I wouldn't know if Europeans talk that way about Americans. I DO know that I am a European that has been in America since 1991, and it's not cool to hear this type of talk. I DO know that I don't speak this way about Americans, as I was raised in this country. It's just disheartening to hear this stuff, especially since I don't relate to the point of view that you're talking about.

In the end, this stuff about Euros, Chinese, Africans, or whatever else has to END when we are discussing the NBA. It is an increasingly international league. How would you feel if someone called your people SOFT- constantly? It's not cool, man.

Knicksfan: I agree with you. Americans are rude, loud, obnoxious and think the world revolves around them. This thread is offensive and has no place on UK. Euro players are people too(even the French) and deserve the same patience we give to american players(even if they all are soft).

I hear what you're saying and I don't think anyone is discounting the historical significance and what it means to so many people. At some point, though, it has to be a lot more than that, right? We are talking about the President, and he does represent everyone in this country. I think we all agree that Obama was elected because he was the better choice and not because of race, right? With that, it is a bit surprising to see more focus put on race than on his actual presidency. But, maybe you're right and we're simply being a little too impatient.

Dog, its his first day in office. Cant we acknowledge the significance and reflect on the strides of our nation for at least a day or two?
