92 14th pick Malik Sealy passed on Doug Christie, Hubert Davis, Latrell Sprewell
93 14th pick Scott Haskin passed on Sam Cassell and Nick Van Exel
94 15 pick Eric Paitkowski Aaron Mckie was the next pick
95 24 pick Travis Best good pick
96 10th pick Erick Dampier passed on Kobe Bryant Stojaovich, Nash, Jermaine Onela
97 13th pick Austin Croshere passed on Maurice Taylor and Brevin Knight
98 26th Pick Al Harrington.
If someone can defend Walsh draft record then you're looking at this through rose colored glasses. I am too lazy to look up the rest but 2001 no pick 2002 Fred Jones and Prince was on the board and 2003 no pick is not a good run

To be fair, everyone in the first round passed on NVE, so all the GM's failed there. Malik sealy has a good career, just as good as Hubert davis, not quite christy, who was not great, but again, a lot of GM's passed on sprewell..

Dampier was the pick to make back then, but he ended up stealing jermain Oneal, so he did well with that..

Crochere was more relevant than both taylor and knight. that playoff run he had with indy was fantastic...

Not a Great draft history, but not bad...

Fishmike picking Dampier ten in front of Kobe, peja, nash, and oneal is really gross.

It could be argued not picking Kobe #1 is really gross... 9 other teams also passed...

We have two expirings contracts we can use and Mobley contract to get a player. I am just talking a guy who can shoot go trade Steph and someone for Wally he would be great and Quentin wouldnt have to play. Go trade Malik for a vet big that can play ten minutes a game so Lee doesnt havew to wrestle with Bynum and Shaq.

Man, if its so easy to do it, why don't you do it yourself? You are missing the point that a GM has to be patient and not rush things when he doesn't have to. We are undermanned and it would be nice to have some help, but most guys available in the NBDL may not bring anything more than Roberson, and you know how that has worked out.

As far as trades, teams aren't just pulling the trigger every night so its not like its already the trading deadline with many rumors and deals going down.

You really look desperate in this posts, King. Weird coming from you.

sure... no arguements there, but those are mostly deadline deals. Tougher to make now. Also would you pass on the cap space and just go with the guys you got? I mean we could add Redd and Gadzurich easy. Redd would look great bombing 3's here no? That worth passing on a shot at a bigtime FA?

Having Steph on this team is retarded and Wilson and Duhon are going to hit a wall playing 36-40 minutes a night. I agree you have to be patient but trading an expiring for another one isn't hurting you. I can already tell you the patience of Walsh with Lee will backfire in my opinion. I just dont see how they will get any value back in a trade for him.

Thats the point. It isn't so easy to make trades to improve the present when you are making sure you don't negatively affect the future. There could be many options out there for us to improve but saying that they are easy and quickly to do is foolish since none here is Walsh to know. We has Jeffries back a short time ago and that made it 8 available players, a solid rotation. He was out last night. Too bad. But you don't jump on a deal for a guy that may be a tall Roberson and maybe negate yourself a chance to make a 2-for-1 trade the next week or so.

May not hurt the 2010 plan, but what if it hurts your chance at making a better trade at the deadline?

I think you should Get Lebron of Wade sign what you have and the money you have left over fill in the spots. I dont think getting two big time free agents is going to happen. I donbt think Johnson and Bosh being small town guy, and a southern boy from Atlanta would like the spotlight. Look at Sabathia he got an out after three years because of NYC.

I think you can't analyze all those situations with such general logic. For the only sure thing, Sabathia is really worried about his family and doesn't know how life in NY will be. Thats a reasonable question for a man who has never lived in NY. But having yet to play a game in NY, having yet to live in NY, its hardly a given that he will opt out. At best, it gives him flexibility, which no one can argue its wrong. But you keep analyzing things with arguments that are too far away to happen.

We'll worry about Bosh, Lebron, Wade etc. when we get there.

No you're worrying about Lebron, Wade and the others now because everything you do is to get a chance at these guys. I think it is possible to get one but now two max players. Some of these guys have families and can get paid the same money and they may enjoy the teams they are with. Wade is in Miami and already won a title. Bosh I think will go south or smaller market. Joe Johnson to me is a small town arkansas kid and i think he stays in Atlanta.

It's not possible to get two max players? huh? Not ever? There's tons in 2010 but who says both have to come in that year anyway? My dream would still be Lebron in 2010 and Dwight in 2012, although I realize it's not likely.

It is possible but for something to never happen before and then all of sudden happening in 2010. Would be like Kyle Farnworth throwing a no hitter for the yankees after being a middle reliever. I just think the chances are very slim of getting two max players in 2010.

Worrying about who we are getting in 2010 is just daydreaming and is nonsense. Just be happy that we are finally in position to be a plaeyr in the trade market and the free agent market. That's what this is about. The next step is to acquire that pick that Isiah gave away for next year and be a player in the draft as well. This isn't about Lebron or anyone else. That's just media hype and fan dreaming. This is about finally having real flexibility to improve your team.

Again, why do both have to be in 2010? I don't know how many different ways I can phrase this question!
