So let me get this straight. No team is going to spend so they can be in the sweepstakes for all the great free agents 2010. Only Wade has won a championship out of all of these guys. Bosh, Lebron, Johnson, Stoudamire hasnt won the big one and they have more talent than if they come to NY. Only 2 or 3 of these guys are going to switch teams so if you have 15 teams under the cap what do the other teams do. This is the only way the Knicks will ever be good if they get a couple big time free agents in 2010. If they get one we are looking at a .500 team just like Bosh is on with Toronto or Johnson with Atlanta. Teams are going to spend and make trades. I just wish I knew what was Plan B

Also--if Al Harrington plays like this all year--you can lock it in he will opt out and get paid.

harrington ain't going anywhere until 2010. Not enough teams have space after this season.

If he plays like this all year he is Audi 5000 unless we give him a very lucrative deal. He would look darn good in Portland--a third threat at SF. You really think that no one is going to pay FA this offseason--this market is going to have some nice finds in it. I can think of 7 teams as of now with space and 4-6 more with capability to get there.

Lee's a commodity. The league is on notice. If we trade him, we should get something of significance in return or we should be able to package one of our bad contracts (Curry). Other teams would not be doing us a favor by taking Lee from us, so we shouldnt be shy in asking for a solid package.

I think we should really look to move Nate/Curry together. Lee is too valuable as a finisher and a rebounder and is only going to get more open looks if we add a great player

Webster has a broken foot and a new long term contract that far exceeds 2010 and Frye is something you take back for spot duty.

Webster's foot will get better and his contract is modest. 4yr/20mill that is by no means a salary cap killer and he would make a nice addition to the SG spot for us. Frye I agree with you on, but he's being brought back to make the deal work.

Webster was on the verge of coming back but went out again last Sunday after only 5 mins. against Toronto. He needs more time - the stress fracture in his foot hasn't healed yet. As far as injuries go, I'm no doctor, but I'd be willing to bet that it's not as severe as a back or knee problem. He should heal up fine. He did just get a new deal that's quite modest given his potential. A 22 yr. old (don't forget this is a young dude who came right outta HS and then hasn't gotten consistent PT since joining the league) with his 6'7" height, shooting touch and the new modest contract with the idea that he'd be given more minutes in a D'Antoni system than he's gotten so far in Portland - how could you not be intrested in that?? And I also think you're selling Sergio Rodriguez short too. Come on bro, "a scrub?" No way. This kid has nice ability and the right frame of mind when it comes to actually running a club and being the quarterback out on the court. Another guy that would greatly benefit from increased PT. I'm not saying he'd come here and be Magic Johnson but he can play. He's exciting and probably possesses some of the best court vision and passing skills I've ever seen. Now having said that, any potential deal with Portland has to start with Jerryd Bayless - you shoot for Bayless and be happy with Rodriguez if you're Donnie. Admittedly, Bayless is the better all-around talent and the guy I wanted the Knicks to draft. And Frye too - never loved him and his soft style of play given his impressive physical package but there's no denying that he's at least got some decent talent offensively. If there's one coach in the league that could figure out how best to use Frye and get the most out of him, it's D'Antoni. I betcha right now, D'Antoni would say that Frye's more of his type of big man than David Lee anyway, even with Lee putting up the good numbers.

Martell Webster is not going to be a Knick.

No way MDA likes Frye over Lee.
