Wow... This is happening in a whirlwind. I'd rather see us trade Zach for the players that Dallas is rumored to be offering than bums like Cuttino Mobley from the Clips.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

If it is Randolph for Howard, that is a good deal. Randolph for Stackhouse is a WTF. You don't trade a young 20/10 PF, who is playing at an allstart level, for nothing, I don't care how much he makes.

It would have to be Zach and Mardy for Stack and Howard.

Why? Stack doesn't make enough money nor does Howard alone to make it work.

Why Mardy? Cause we need to swap 2-2 in this scenario given our 15 strong roster.

Word is that the Knicks are waiting for approval from the Clippers to sign off on the Zach+Mardy for TT+Mobley trade.


New York Times:

The Knicks are working on a separate deal from their trade with Golden State, which would send Zach Randolph to the Los Angeles Clippers, possibly for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley.

It is believed that Donnie Walsh is ready to make that deal but is awaiting confirmation from the Clippers, who pursued Randolph last summer.

yeah, and if we are only suiting 8 guys we probably are throwing someone in too...

I'm just wondering if the Dallas rumor is the Knicks leaking some BS to get the Clippers to make up their minds quicker?

As I posted a few posts above - the NY Times reported about 25 minutes ago that Walsh is ready to make the deal and we're just waiting for the Clippers to call back to accept.

1. Clipper 1st deal: Zach+1st rounder+3M cash = 2nd rounder + trade exception. (1st rd demand was later dropped by LAC, Walsh never got word, deal fell through)

I mean, how much better can we expect here?

As it is Walsh has apparently been said to want to do this deal - but - we're waiting for the clippers to approve or reject. I hope they approve!

It's over with for Zach. Everyone knows who he is and what he can do. He's still a woefully inefficient player though so despite his fantastic double/doubles they are not done efficiently! He's a lot of empty stats when it comes down to it.

If we can drop him for 2010s, and get Mobley to stop-gap the 2G now that Crawful is gone, I think we do it!

Randolph is a machine, he should be fine.

On the record: I don't want any part of Tim Thomas and Mobley trade. Randolph is playing his ass off. We can get a good player for him. For me it is not just about dumping salary it is about obtaining assets that have value which will in turn contribute to the team and/or provide us with options and flexibility for future trades etc.

Patience is a virtue.
