Seriously, I'm not a big Eddy Curry fan, there are a lot of holes in his game.
But I don't think he's as overpaid as a lot of you are making out to be.
A legit 7' center that can score 20pts a game is a rare thing, and I'm sure
somebody will want him. He can be traded, and I don't think it's so far fetched
that Riley would.

I agree his contract is actually pretty good if you consider his size and stats but if you actually see his game you'd think twice before picking him up.

His 20 pt avg is the most softest 20 pts avg i have seen in a long time. It involves force feeding him in the post, taking away any fluidity we had on offense. On good days he goes off, bad days gets into foul trouble and sulks from the bench. His 20 points is seriously not worth the trouble considering the negative effect it has on overall team play. We're not the only ones to see that, i think most teams wont even touch him and his sub-par conditioning of late just seals that.

It's hard to picture Riley wanting this dude since he benched a key starter in their title run, Antoine Walker, cuz of his out of nowhere "body fat rule"....I dunno there might be a slight chance Eddy might not ever hit the body fat requirement.

Still, Riley is a ****y bastard and he is a master motivator. He likes to run a traditional set and he has a disciple coaching his team. Marion is lost in this new east coast style and is kinda butting heads on the court with Haslem and Beasley.

Deleting Marion and adding Eddy Curry for Miami allows Eddy Curry to get assimulated to a style of play ment for him. He's gonna have
Riley there for him. Haslem has his back, with Beasley doing his thing. Wade is who he is and he might even have Marbs playing with him.....check out the Heat's potential starting 5 here:

Haslem
Beasley
Curry
Marbs
Wade

Dude its pretty slick and everyone meshes....Kinda looks like the old Knick rivals when they had PJ, Mash, Zo, Tim Hardaway, and whoever else they had starting....

Guys already know what the Knicks can look like in this type of trade....Marion played some of his best ball under D'antoni....the guy is an elite rebounder and he does alot of things well. He's not a shooter but neither is Q, but he wont be waddling around like an old woman like Q does!!!!

Marion, Wilson, Zach? thats nice.....add PAtrick Ewing JR and Jared to that. Kinda undersized but still hard to guard. The speed in this line-up is crazy. Marion is a super athlete and thats an element that's missing. He adds a shot blocker and brings help on the boards.

The stlyes mesh.....its a no brainer for both teams and with the way the Knicks are treating Marbs and Curry, hopefully it sparks another rivalry that sparks up some more intrest for the league.

You don't want to add a player like Lee to get rid of Curry. Marion is an older player - not part of the Knicks future. The team needs to focus on building a nucleus of young players. Including Lee in a trade for Marion is not the right direction for this team to go.
Agree completely. Don't include Lee.
The Heat want to get rid of Marion at $17 million more than we want and need to trade Curry. They have Beasley and don't need Marion. But they do need a center and a point guard! And we have Curry and/or Marbury to offer.

A good way to determine if a rumor is bogus: Is one team giving up a far better player who ALSO has a far better contract? If yes, rumor is likely bogus.

LOL.

There's no way in hell Riley wants a part of this fatso.

I love it when people say things like "there's no way in hell (insert the name) wants to deal for (insert the player)" and then are shocked when real trades happen and look more lopsided or seems horrible for one of the teams involved. Don't get me wrong, I know these ideas seem crazy, but trades like that happen every time.

That specific trade may not happen, but I do think Eddy can be traded and that teams do have interest in him.

Please provide proof to support.

Some recent examples:

Raptors send Carter to the Nets in exchange for Eric Williams, Aaron Williams, Mourning and two first-round draft picks.

Grizz trade Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Crittendon, Marc Gasol, McKie, and 2 1st round draft picks.

Heat trade Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, Brian Grant, and a 1st round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers for Shaquille O'Neal.

Suns send Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to the Heat for Shaquille O'Neal.

The New Orleans Hornets dealt Davis to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for guard Speedy Claxton and forward Dale Davis.

Juts to name a few trades that not only have been lopsided, but are the kind of trades nobody believes will happen but they do because, right or wrong, each team is looking for something out of it. The Nets trading Richard Jefferson is another trade like that. The Mavs trading for Kidd is another one. They don't look good, a team probably regrets making it but its done. The past years the Knicks have made trades like those. If a team believes they need a low post scorer and believe a guy like Curry is the missing key, believe the deal can happen. While in your mind it may be impossible, its not in the minds of some GMs that truly believe it could be the missing piece. You just never know and thats the point I was trying to give.

Now, you can agree or disagree on those trades. There certainly have been more throughout the history of the NBA. Search for lopsided or crazy NBA trades and you will find lots of stuff. This kind of trades happen, you just have to look at the right time.

^This is true. You will have GMs that are under the gun, one way or the other, and needs to fill a position. Beggars can't be choosers and Curry is a low post threat.

A think a Curry trade is very possible, just not with the Spurs or Miami. I just don't see it.

Yes to Knicksfan. Wade isnt getting any younger and there is always the threat that he could walk in 2010. The Heat aren't in a position to just sit around --- Marion is just not working out so far. People always act like every situation is superior to ours, when its not. Panic could very likey set in down on South Beach.

But Lee would have to be included to get rid of Curry. Almost assuredly. And that's a trade I would make in a heartbeat. Lee sealed his fate when he C-blocked us from getting Mayo. Get his ass out!!!!!!!!!
