Finding it hard to give credit? Jazz were 4-0 before us and we beat them fair and square. I like this season so far and not because we are getting "lucky" with other peoples injuries. We are beaing the guys in front of us, and thats all you an ask for.

Finding it hard to be objective?

If you think that playing the Jazz without Deron Williams isn't good fortune then we can't really have a discussion that makes sense.

Why doesn't Sloan have Okur post up Chandler? Because playing Okur on the perimeter hasn't yield them much.

I honestly think, even with Deron Williams in the lineup, that if you make a concerted effort to completely take Okur's perimeter offense away from them (he's the easier guy to stop between he and Boozer), you beat the Jazz on most nights. Okur's killed us in the past at different points and it was always clueless Eddy Curry covering him...

Nice win tonight. Craw was great. Team played much better defense in the 2nd half. Completely mistified that Gallo still doesn't see any time. This was a game he could've gotten into today and reaslly contributed. Gotta play him sooner or later Mike...

Been a while since we were +2 in the win column, eh?

We were playing some actual defense today. Nice.

hey imo it's not about gallo it's about the nicks. if we're winning and mike decides he wants to sit him till he feels he's ready that's fine with me.

The Knicks have some good fortune in facing the Jazz without Deron Williams and the Spurs coming up without Parker. Then we have Memphis and OKC, both of whom are beatable. We've been on the wrong end of the luck and schedule game in the past few years so I hope we take advantage of these opportunities.

Jazz were 5-0 before the Knicks game.

Hey no reason to turn this into soundbites.

You say we should be grateful that we are playing teams when they are shorthanded, I say we beat whats in front of us and with regards to the Jazz, thats not so bad. Especially if you consider that they had won their first five games including Portland, Nugs and the Clips. I dont think its fair to denigrsate the teams result by saying the opposition was weakened.

When you talk about the "good fortune" of the team it unfairly represents the effort this team has put out to throw off its awful past few years. When they play well you should say so. When they play badly, we all jump on them and rightly so,but the flip side of that should be credit where its due.

And by the way, speaking of credit where its due, notice how after we beat the Heat, everyone said they were an awful team who would break record of ineffectiveness, yet theyre not looking too bad now after beating the Sixers and I dont see anyone going back on what they said after the Heat game.

Credit where its due, thats all im saying.

I think a game like this was a good place for Gallinari. We played a lot of half court basketball so not much to worry about his conditioning. I don't ever want to see Duhon guarding Boozer in the post again.

Most amazing/telling moment for me- Randolph playing tight D in the post and keeping his man from shooting, and then switching off the guy he just stopped to challenge a jumper.

Randolph playing D. An African-American taking the states of Indiana, N.Carolina, and Virginia to become President. Strange and miraculous things are afoot! Maybe Sarah Palin is right, and the final days are upon us!

What? Firefly, you're the one turning this into soundbites or something, whatever you want to call it. You're the one getting into this denigration and all sorts of stuff. You're the one attempting to pull negativity from my statement.

I'm always happy when the Knicks win, and they have played well tonight and the past couple of games. Feel free to be giddy. Am I telling you not to enjoy the win? Did I say something bad about the Knicks?

I am trying to live in reality. The reality is we played the Jazz well but they did not have their best player playing and that is something we should take advantage of. The Spurs are missing their second and third best players and I am hoping we can take advantage of that. If that rains on your parade, well I'm very sorry!

Knicks are hustling, playing hard and well. They have rallyied around D'Antoni and they are a different team than the past few years. Great win!

I got a negative vibe from your original post when you said the Knicks "have some good fortune in facing the Jazz without Deron Williams". If I was wrong I apologize.

I actually wasnt calling you out for being hugely negative, I simply felt that focusing on the Jazz missing Williams and not on us beating the guys in front of us was taking credit away from the team for their win.

We still cool, right Ooh?

Anyway, moving on. Is it just me or do the Spurs look mightly creaky even with Parker. Will Manu's retun make all the difference between 4 losses an more wins? Without Parker and Manu, the Spurs look set for a massive tank-job, No. 1 pick and more kudos the RC Buford.

Injuries are a part of sports and usually dictates how successful a team can be. If we don't win this game, then we didn't capitalize, and the same will said for te san an game.

Of course we're cool! I am happy to argue AND celebrate with actual Knicks fans!

Because I know in the end all we want is for our team to win and be good. What I meant, and perhaps did not write as well as I should have:

The Knicks have started the last few seasons playing bad with tough schedules and tough luck. Nobody shed any tears for us though. So I am happy that we are playing well and maybe catching a couple of breaks, it seems like it has been ages, I can't even remember the last good start we had...

With the Spurs' luck they be the number 11th seed of the lottery, win it and get the next Tim Duncan. I think they got the Santaria formula over there. Somebody get Donnie Walsh a chicken and some 20 dollar bills to burn!

You got it right. Noones going to shed any tears for us if Crawford or Randolph go down mid-season. No reason for us to do otherwise.

I get the feeling that the Spurs' "invincibles, unmissable" aura is fading. Buford made some mistakes this pre-season. He should have shored up the bench, with Finley and Oberto the only recognized non-scrubs there. KT still starting? Us Knick fans know how well thats going to go. Is it possible for a player to jump so little, its like a minus-jump effect? There were some player the Sp8urs could have picked up and didnt (Justin Williams, Grant Hill last year).

Of course, any team with Duncan will still be tough to beat, but at what point does Duncan (32 this year) not have it anymore? Anyone else notice that Bruce Bowen is 37, KT is 36, Udoka is 31, Oberto is 33, Finley is 35 and Jacques Vaughan is 33? Thats an OOOOOOOLD-ass team.

DIdn't get to see much of the game, just saw some highlights. Nice to see some team oriented play.

Duhon looking pretty good. I've seen more highlights from Duhon in the last 5 games than I've seen in the last 3 years from Marbury.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not missing Steph.

The only thing I miss from Steph is seeing the spit on his mouth...

Come on Steph, you're losing relevance, time to start chirping.

HEY did anyone record this game? I had to go to a meeting and missed it. I can't believe I didn't get to see this one. UGH!!!!

Just one thing i'll add is that to me it doesn't matter if we're playing the Sisters of the poor, when we play the right way and win against anyone it's a good win, no ifs or buts about it. Just give the team credit for putting wins together, which we haven't seen this team do in a long time. They look like a real team and they're giving great effort. What's not to like???
