It's good to be getting rid of the contract, but it's not good to be giving up Lee for an almost expiring. We need to get some incentive for Lee, and a player who's not going to play that much, for you, isn't asking for much. Get er done.

Harrington + draft pick to Knicks
Curry + Lee to Charlotte
G Wallace + young player or draft pick to GS

I think GS would do Lee for Harrington straight up. And to balance salary we'd have to throw in Malik.
So if we are giving up Lee with Curry, we need to get something extra back along with HArrington.

Im thinking really hard about this and I think that you would have to pull the trigger on that three way trade. It seems like something is in the works, Jordan comes to the Knick game (to talk to donnie?), rumors on all ends from all sources, Harrington not playing tonight...

I think you have to do it. I would love it if the Knicks got back a pick from sending out Curry and Lee, but from a financial standpoint its a no brainer. Curry's 10 million off the books and Lees 8 million (resigned) is basically 18 million off the books for 2010. While I hate the fact that we are sending out our best rebounder along with the man who is a direct result of 2 lottery picks for Al Harrington I dont think theres any other logical choice.

If we are keeping ZBo then we have no need for Lee. Lets ship him out before he stinks up the joint anymore from being forced to play center.

GSW is supposedly not interested in Wallace.

But Charlotte is interested in a Curry for Wallace swap. I have to wonder why we wouldn't just do this. Wallace is a perfect fit for D'Antoni's system. And acquiring Wallace gives you more flexibility to move DLee... for someone like Sergio.

What's up with Lee? Is he just not playing well because he's worried about a trade?

wallace is not a good outside shooter. big minus in mike's system.

chandler is younger cheaper and already comparable as a player with much better touch and scoring prowess.

trading for Wallace would be yet another starphuch type trade, & it basically fugs any chance whatsoever of us being under the cap in 2010... a team w/Wallace & Zach as the main focalpoints of the team will never come close to winning a championship... why bother? u have Chandler who has already shown he can play & play well in this system at the 3 spot for cheap, & u just drafted another SF/PF in Gallo that u still have to give playing time to in order to evaluate... trading for G Wallace would be completely counterproductive to any of Walsh's plans going forward.

My fault I posted this in another thread by accident....

Reportedly Golden State wants no part of Gerald Wallace's albatross contract! If there is any truth to this rumor... Here is a scenario that could work for all teams involved (IMO):

Charlotte trades: Nazr Mohammad, Raymond Felton, and Ryan Hollins
Bobcats rec: Eddy Curry (C), Mardy Collins (pg) and cash from NYK

Golden State trades: Al Harrington
Warriors get: Nazr Mohammad (C), Raymond Felton (PG)

New York trades: Eddy Curry and Mardy Collins
Knicks rec: Al Harrington (SF) and Ryan Hollins (c)

the only way i'd trade for G Wallace is if Curry & Jamal were going in the deal... that keeps our cap situation pretty much intact as it is now... otherwise i pass.

I would do Wallace for Curry straight up. Curry is already on the books for 11mm in 2010 and G Wallce could actually make this team a serious playoff team right now . We cant over emphasize the cap room crp for 2010. With a few tweaks we could be real good right now.

I would only do this if we had the intentions of moving Wallace soon. I would imgaine that his contract will be easier to move than Curry's. Other than that, why? Do we really want to sign someone who will take minutes away from Chandler/Gallo and ruin our chances of getting a high pick when we have no intentions of keeping him?

You can move Q Rich to back up and Chandler to 4 with Wallace at 3. That gives us more shot blocking and defense with additional offense and size. Gallo might not be a contributor for years.

if we were able to swing a first rounder out of this, not bad.

But, not crazy about Wallace, though a chandler, wallace and Zach front court would be formidable.

If Charlotte is serious about trading Wallace for Curry (which I doubt) you have to jump on it. Wallace would fit this uptempo style perfectly and give us another defender which we desperately need. Chandler and Wallace can play together up front in D'Anotni's small ball.

As far as the salaries are concerned, trading Wallace's contract for Curry's really doesn't hurt us at all.

Curry is on the books for 9 million, 10 million and 11 million as an option I believe.

Wallace is on the books for 9.5 million for 4 years with a team option in his 5th year. Basically, in 2010, we would be at close to 2 million less on the cap if we replace Wallace's salary with Currys.

That's a terrible trade. Why the **** would we do that? You trade Lee to get rid of a contract, not to just get more crap. That does nothing for us and Harrington is the forward version of Crawford. If it's Lee and Curry, I'd think hard about it.

harrington expires before 2010.

So does Richardson...

richardson makes me want to punt puppies, harrington doesn't

It's a chance to get rid of Curry. What's not to like about this move?

Would you's rather have Curry who can't do anything or Harringston who can at least run up and down the court and contribute? The plan is two years. He ends in two years. Why not?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Larry Brown has benched Sean May because he is out of shape and he's in better shape than Curry (who isn't?). Why exactly would he want Curry?

I said Curry is in better shape than May. May isnt fit to play in an NBA game. Curry simply doesnt fit in with what D'antoni wants to do.

Curry's considered to be in better shape??
I'll never trust this' team again.

Wallace's has a player option of $11.5 mil in his 5th year ('12-'13), which means ur taking on 2 extra years of salary if u make that deal.

how about offering up Curry & Jamal for Wallace, Felton & cash... that would actually improve our cap situation in 2010 & we'd still have D Lee to use as an asset in another deal... u could move Q Rich to the 2G & start Chandler at the 4 after u traded D Lee, preferably for a draft pick... we'd then have the shotblocker we've needed for a while on the floor in Wallace & u'd have a really athletic team that can run up & down the floor that fits MDA's system... Duhon & Felton would make a nice PG tandem.
