With Marbury missing on the offensive end, combined with Q's 4 for 13 shooting and 1 for 7 from the arch, that's an awful lot of missing points. At least we know why we lost number wise.
24 more assists. Not bad once again.
The thing that beat us in, because we didn't get the shooting numbers we needed form a few players, trying to finish in the end was kind of reflective of the kinds of games the Knicks played last year.
One thing I notice is, between Brown, Isiah and D'Antoni, pretty much all have lost there Knick debuts, in one way or another and the MSG debuts as well. I hope it's not a sign of the times again. But I'm going to remain positive. I just don't think they played as aggressive tonight as the first two games. Most of the numbers I am impressed with though.
I'll never trust this' team again.

sixers made a lot of shots, even contested ones. Knicks looked good, they passed, cut, scored even ran the break well... It is going to be fun watching this team this year..

I'll say it again, it's not about the wins and losses in preseason. It's about the manner in which they play and the growth they show. We'll need all of the preseason games and likely a good portion of the season to allow this team to learn how to play the right way. I'm excited about the team starting the process of building for the future. Of course we need some pieces changed, but for right now we have to deal with a less than ideal team.

We've waited for someone to actually change the attitude of this team and give it an identity. I think this system can fit this team in the long run. I'm hoping that they can use this season to learn and grow and hopefully get better as the season moves along. I'd really love a trade to bring in a Shotblocker, but we know how hard that's been to do. All these years and we still don't have one. Big Snacks was supposed to bring that, but we all know how that turned out. Jared isn't a natural shotblocker, but I think he can help a bit.

I think this game represents how the season will go - more entertaining but still losing. A defensive shot blocker intimindator who can run the floor is needed.

I can't help but think how much better a Justin Williams would make this team look in those minutes Malik Rose is getting right now. Totally agree Jess, we need a defensive presence inside. If they don't want to go get this kid Williams now who's available, hey that's fine, but they need to come up with something.

And they need to shop Eddy Curry at all costs. His fat ass has no place on this team playing this style. You can tell D'Antoni's disgusted with this guy as well: when asked if Eddy was OK after the game he responded, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I think so. Think he had an upset stomach or something." And how 'bout his comment when he found out Eddy was vomiting a lot with the bacteria infection during training camp: "That's a good way to loose weight." What a joke, and D'Antoni knows it. Whatever you can get for this guy, a second rounder even, just do it and move on. I said it a while ago and nothing's changed in my mind: Curry and Randolph both have terrible contracts, esp. Zach's, but Zach is such a superior player to Eddy Curry, it's not even funny.

I doubt Malik gets any minutes when the season starts. I'm not even sure he'll make the team.

nate >>>> crawford + marbury in this system...

I thought crawford was supposed to a perfect fit for this system. He sucks.

Jamal has struggled mightily, he doesn't fit in at all. I thought he'd be a shoe-in, but he's not hitting any of the open jump-shots he's getting.

I wrote this on the other forum I post, but basically he's not shown us to be a good player without the ball in his hands, hence why he's not been a good spot shooter.

Watching the game on Knicks in 60 now, and he just missed a wide open 3 on a spot shot, late in the 1st. Lee and Nate look great though.

Crawford will still get his. He will still shoot a terrible percentage and turn the ball over but he will score his points and people will overrate him as usual.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Interesting to watch D'Antoni going at the refs and getting a T over the no-call at the end of the 3rd on Nate when he drove to the hoop.

Some might say, what's the big deal, it's pre-season, but there are multiple reasons I can see why he would do that...

1) Concern Nate won't get calls he may deserve and how a statement to the refs early can help during the season

2) Build respect with players early, especially Nate, by showing you will stand up for them. For Nate, this is key because if he later asks Nate to cool off, he will have shown Nate that he will stand up for him when he feels it's justified. This is a classic managerial tactic that can be quite effective whenever you need to ask your workers to go the extra mile or in affecting their willingness to listen to you.

I am loving Mike D as our coach thus far, no doubt.

Just looking at the numbers, again Lee, Nate and Chandler, all young players, barely turning the ball over at all. Lee had 2, but with 7 assists. The only Nate TO, must have been that one where he didn't protect the ball and was stripped by Dalembert.

Low TO's is a huge difference from years past, and for our young players to be modeling this is really valuable.

Doesn't look like Eddy made much of an impact at all, and now he's sick again.

In fairness to Jamal, btw, he was 2-4 from 3pt range tonight

Chandler, another big game. I like his aggressiveness too, and willingness to go to the hoop. 20 and 10...man, I'm excited about watching him grow.

Mardy effective again. He looks so much more comfortable. Interesting.

Q-Rich looking like he is back to the self we don't want to see from outside, but maybe D'Antoni wants him on the floor for leadership and defense.

btw, wow, the Sixers are going to be one giant shot block party inside.

Okay, we lost, but we seem to look pretty good in doing so, which for pre-season is good, and bodes well for the season.
