Ok - I have heard that the Republican base thinks this move by McCain was a brilliant move - are they really that blind?

McCain looks like a fool who is trying to capitalize on the nations economic troubles. Palin cant answer a single question, McCain is flip flopping all over the place on the economy and to top it all off now he looks like a coward who cant show up to the playground for the fight.

I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks this was good for McCain is an idiot. I am watching Palin's interview on CBS and I am literally laughing out loud at how AWFUL she is.

The fact that the McCain/Palin ticker is even considered in the conversation shows how SAD the state of this country is. Palin is the village idiot and McCain looks like a walking corpse.

If McCain doesnt show up to the debates tomorrow I see it going down in history as one of the biggest political blunders in presidential politics. Obama will have the country (at lease those who tune in) at his fingertips for the entire hour (not sure how long it will go) and an empty podium beside him. I can see kids in school 50 years from now watching video of the debate similar to how many of us saw the Nixon/Kennedy debate where Kennedy was tan, Nixon was pale and Kennedy came off looking like a superstar.

George H Bush was a no show in the 1st 92 debate to protest Perot involvement in the debates as I remember. That was bad for him. I think it cost him the election because recover from that.

What cost him the election was that he was a terrible president in the third term of Republican plundering the country, a recession, and "Read my lips no new taxes".

Yeah it was due to Ross Perot constantly reminding the public about George Bush's promise to the American people and his former relationship with Saddam Hussein. Perot had a full blown picture of Bush and Saddam shaking hands that he carried with him everywhere. That was a surreal election.
