we definitely need a shotblocker in the worst way imaginable... i really hope Walsh can get a trade done to bring 1 in before the season begins.

Yup. I am sick of having guys go to the basket with impunity against the Knicks. I want a center who accepts that he is a center and not a SF and dribbles as little as possible, who averages 12 PPG, can hit a 15 ft jumper when needed and has an effective hook shot but has no idea there is a thing called a 3 PT line, hits 75% of his foul shots, blocks 2-3 a game and makes an opponent think twice about going to the basket, makes decent passes from the post, gets 10-11 rebounds a game, and has the bulk to deal with the beefy centers of the league.

Curry is not the answer.

Another thing about the Mayor. He just turned 21 in May. So maybe he's got a lot of upside, too.

If he can continue to improve his handle and his jump shot, I think we have guy who can score 18 points, grab 6-7 boards and play very good d with another year or two of work.

LOL. The two best shotblockers on the team last year were Chandler and Balkman. As it stands now, the best shotblockers on the team are Chandler and Balkman. That is suppose to be gravy not the main course. If the Clippers are offering DeAndre Jordan in the Z-Bo trade as rumored, Walsh is crazy not take the kid. I like Lee but he is worst than Z-Bo and Curry in the shotblocking department.

The Answer Man Keeps It Real

Vote 21

Q. purple - So, "the Mayor" is a UK creation not known beyond the URL?

A. Negative. The Mayor is NOT a UK creation. The Mayor (and the accompanying campaign for votes) is a creation of The Answer Man, who everyone knows is internationally known, regionally respected and locally accepted.

Agreed onthe shotblocker point....however, the Jordan rumor, I believe was started by the forums. I dont remember anyone reporting that the Clips offered Jordan in any deal.

The beauty of The Mayor is not simply his offense but his leech-like defense.

Now add Duhon and stir.

"I take a lot of pride in my defense," (Duhon) said. "In Chicago, I had the opportunity to guard a lot of positions, from the one to the four. So I think that I've got a lot of depth (in playing defense) to guard a variety of positions. As a point guard, you're a catalyst of that. You're the guy that's pressuring the ball, and you can set the tone defensively."

That makes two.

And anudder thing...

I don't care if QRich has dropped 20 pounds or 30 pounds, he better come ready to compete for the starting job. If D'Antoni's early tone of support for The Mayor is any indication, the deployment of the frontcourt will be fun to watch.

The more confidence the young man gains in his ability to navigate the floor effectively, (note his experimentation with combinations of moves) the more he will discover and develop his unique voice.
