I had a teammate from Boston in my MBA program, and the bastartd wouldn't even talk to me! This was while we were trying to do homeowrk together. This guy was so full of himself that he refused to treat others as people. I dont know if its racism or sheer hubris.

But I work for and with a bunch of transplanted Bostonians now who are absolutely great people with no inclination towards that type of behavior.

I dont hate people from Boston, I just hate the sccess they have had in sports, I am definitely jealous of it. But these are loyal fans that supported the Red Sux through a 84 year run with nothing to show for it. Are they so different than us, in our support for the Knicks? Why villify the poepl in that city just becasue our own team cant do what theirs did?

It was probably racism...

For Sox fans, they were able to carve an identity out of their lack of success. They got a lot of mileage out of becoming the 'woe is us' poster childs.

For the Celts and Knicks, their identities are wrapped up in actual success, so when Big Green fell on hard times they really ceased to exist. Same for the Knicks.

We are definitely in the eye of a New England sports hurricane; but for all their success, they cant take away the Giants/Patriots Superbowl, which definitely will go down as the biggest sports moment in my eyes. No doubt, they wanted that one the worst and we backslapped the chowda out of 'em, Takes a lot of the sting out and definitely a lot of bass out of the Boston voice.

And that's why I wear my "superbowl" shirt to work everytime we have a "jeans day". There is nothing quite like rubbing it in, even if its all good natured.

I went to school in RI, so obviously I came across (and was friends with) alot of people from the Boston area. I didn't find many of them to be racist but I did find many of them to be totally full of themselves and constant dickheads.
