Why do you think Randolph is a high risk prospect? Is it because of his body strength? I agree that he needs to bulk up more, but at the same time, why did he do well in the bench press and also the overall tests in Orlando, if his body strength is so poor?

When I see Anthony Randolph, I see a guy who works hard on defense, blocks shots, grabs boards and does so in traffic (All unlike any other current Knicks player) and his skills are super unique on the offensive end. I'd take him over ANYONE besides Beasley and I could MAYBE understand why Walsh would take Love over AR. However, I don't think he's as far from his upside as people make him out to be. He's a 2 way player with certain flaws but still plays team ball and would fit perfectly under Mike D'Antoni.

If all he needs to do is add muscle and continue working on his LONG DISTANCE shooting, and needs to maybe work on his shot selection, then by golly, I think I just found a player I'd love to draft.

I'd even trade UP to solidify a chance at getting this guy. Not trade down b/c certain people here believe that people who will be drafed later can be just as good (Which I highly disagree with.)

Draft Randolph, if you can get another pick, cool, if not then OK. Trade Randolph for Reggie Evans, straight up, and buyout Marbury this Summer. I'll be perfectly fine with those 3 moves right there.

I honestly think every person on this forum should hope and pray and that Kevin Love continues his great workout because if Kevin Love works out well, he's going to go in the top5 and that bounces a player to us, possibly Mayo and in the VERY unlikely case Beasely. Hope and pray Love keeps doing what he's done so far..

friday workouts:

D.J. Augustin
Donte Green
Kosta Koufas
Kevin Love
Anthony Randolph
Jason Richards
That's one workout.

Gallinari goes alone later in the afternoon.

This could be it for Knick workouts.

My tix to the draft arrived this morning :)

I've basically stopped guessing who the pick will be at 6. There are so many options and so many scenarios that its just hard as hell to predict what will happen. With that said, I'm so excited about this draft. We need to nail this pick.

That's my feeling.

The last few years we sort of knew what was coming.

Last year the Wilson Rumor leaked.
The year before Balkman was a big surprise
year before that, everybody knew Frye was our guy, and most were hoping he'd fall to 7.

Even the Sweetney Pick, most felt that Sweets was our guy.

This year is a great big who knows. Draft bpa for the future or draft for need? try to win next year or try to rebuild and maybe trade some of our players, shed salary, add picks?

I'm looking forward to draft night just to see what happens.
Hello there fans. Isn't Isiah the greatest.

Minnesota impressed with Kevin Love

The Timberwolves were very impressed with UCLA's Kevin Love after he worked out for the team on Tuesday, according to The Pioneer Press.

He worked out for the team for roughly ninety minutes, performing well enough that the team is reportedly considering taking him with the third overall pick.

"I thought he was very good," assistant general manager Fred Hoiberg said. "He's just such a smart player who's got a high basketball IQ. He's a tremendous passer, and he can space the court with his shooting. I thought he was very impressive."

Love believes that he will fall no further than the sixth overall selection in next Thursday's draft.

"I think top six," he said. "I'm pretty confident that I will go in the top six."

All we can do is hope that they select Love #3 and HOPEFULLY that leads to Mayo falling to us. We'll see...

Briggs,
Randolph apparently has done very bad on personality and psych evaluations (Chad Fraud), which is enough of a red flag seeing we already are witness to such players -> Curry, Zach Randolph and Marbury. Now being a professional athlete you actually need some borderline ocb to become a superstar but unfortunately he's more of the Curry variety as in too lacksidaisical.

AR is very talented but can we really afford to take such a gamble since we're already in a hole?

Westbrook has a lot of potential BUT if he were to fail living up to that, you'd still have a very good defender on your hands. He's the kind of player essential on a championship contender.

I prefer Westbrook if we draft a guard not named Mayo or Rose but I have a feeling the Knicks wont. We need Westbrook intangibles more than the pure PG or scoring skills. He reminds me of Alvin Robertson and that is the kind of player we need. We dont need flash we need substance.

Ar is the youngest player in the draft and he played for a team that fired the head coach mid way through the season. I will agree with Greg Anthony on Randolph--while it will take him *time* it's the end product that will speak for itself. If Joe Alexander came out his freshmen year A. he wouldnt have been drafted in 20 rounds B. He likely wouldve failed some mental tests as well--he took the time to develop in college and did a greta job and hes a very good player--my bet is a lot of 18 year olds would fail similar tests--AR is coming out 1 year too early and a team that drafts him has to deal with it the right way. That being said this is a unique basketball player and if he works hard on body and game his first two years and continues to grow another inch or two[that is what BJ Armstrong said that he is still growing and that is why they havent pushed a huge weight gain on him] while he fills out naturally--he will be the steal of the draft. Out of all the players in the draft I have viewed Randolph the most over and over to watch his +-. One thing I can see is he is TOUGH for a guy his size and battles[and usually wins] for rebounds and unlike any other prospect in this draft he can actually be moved to 2G at his size. Just imagine what he could do on the post against a 6-3 guard.
