Being soft has nothing to do with numbers, nwny. Having that fire, that passion for the game plus skill is what I said we need.

As for those who seemed to have a problem with my other post:

We don't have enough players who are willing to put it all on the line for us to win. I hear people jawjackin' about not wanting to hear about heart and balls, but maybe they want players on this team that lacks those things as much as they do. Yeah I said it, and no matter who (read: NYK8 and playa2) happen to be too blind or oblivious to see it, Heart, Fire and Skill are qualities that we need in the players on this team. Only an idiot would attempt to argue that down.

Now on to the bottom line...

I like to see players who hustle, play hard, and not get punked down while utilizing their skill play for the Knicks. I know I am not alone. Too many who post on these boards have the common sense to understand that what I am saying here is a far cry from rocket science.
People use to say D. Rob and Duncan where soft until they won a ring. I'll take numbers over heart any day. All those Knick teams that had fire, never won jack. The knick team that had numbers. Big, hugh, sick.....numbers,have a banner hanging from the rafters.

I will respond to and dispatch this one without caps lock or bad grammar:

The Spurs won because they had Heart and Skills. The Knicks did not win because we had a whole lot of Heart but not enough skills to get us over the top.

Now we barely have either one. Whoopee.

The reality is that Spreewell was ineffective on this team... he didn't have the greatest year last year. KVH is coming into his prime 27 yr old and might thrive in a non-point dominated offense like the early Net team pre- Starbury.

Remember how bad the nets were when Stephon was there. We've been there already- Allan had a career year and we missed the playoffs.

Lottery, here we come(again, but much higher this time)!!!

True Knicks fans understand how much you get proved inaccurate or outright wrong all the time on these boards, playa. Your baseless hateration and commentary is just the comic relief we need on this board. LMAOCTFU

Ridding the Knicks of Sprewell has been a priority for Layden ever since Sprewell reminded the world for the millionth time last fall that he is, and always will be, completely incapable of recognizing rules, respecting bosses, living professional life in complete good faith. Fans were always blinded by Sprewell's passion, by his boundless basketball energy. But it came at a price; Sprewell always has provided just as many headaches as thrills.

There is also this inescapable truth: Sprewell simply is not the player he was five years ago, or even two years ago. As he nears his 33rd birthday, the weapons that always made him such a unique force have regressed. He is no longer the quickest man on the floor, the fastest man on the floor. He can be in flashes, in starts and stops. But as he gets older, as a decade in The League begins to take a lasting toll, those patches of brilliance will arrive in shorter and shorter bursts.
Van Horn did disappear against the Lakers in last year's Finals, he also helped deliver the Nets into them by hitting the 3-pointer that beat the Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Finals that year. Give him a chance we gave "SPREE" one.

Playa-I often disagree with your comments but your comments, in this instance quoting the NY Post are quite accurate. Giving him a chance and support may help him resurrect the career and push him to demonstrate the potential which caused him to be drafted no. 2. He may be 28 but lost 2 years in missionary work.

Another thought-Spree may also be revitalized in an environment close to home with a different cast of characters.

Finally-Houston may show us greater leadership and consistency now that he's clearly the first option.

ROFL!!

Give him a chance to resurrect his career?? A 27 year old player with no negative incidents on record (well, except choking in the clutch) needing to 'resurrect' his career??? And then coming to NY to do so? Let's not forget, this is not Spree we talking about, but KVH, the Stay-Puft SF hisself.

Damn, y'all go to ANY lengths and stretch the imagination to no end to try to justify to yourselves that KVH is more than you KNOW him to be.

Aight... Keep the faith y'all.

Hey Playa, Next time you want to make a point, don't plagarize from the Post (of all the nasty rags), JUST WRITE IT YOURSELF.

Here's the proof!
http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/38099.htm

YOU ARE BUSTED. AGAIN!!!

You would be copying your hateful words for Spree from the damnedable Post, who has nothing but disdain for Spree. That's EXACTLY why he's suing the hell out of them.

Silly? You about creamin ya pants over there for a trade that even you know does not help the Knicks, but you're reveling in it simply because you know the Knick fans with any common knowledge hate it.

I wouln't care so much that Spree is gone if it would've helped NY. Keith Van Horn will suck in NY, just as he's done everywhere else.

This is a sad day for this sad franchise....

Yeah but there's a big difference between quoting a source and making feeble attempts to pass off part of an article as some kind of deep profound post on a message board.

Playa, you make us laugh... That is what clowns are supposed to do though.

What short memories we have. Everybody said it! Think back to '96.
Think back to Wake Forrest when people said the Spurs shouldn't daft Duncan because they don't need 2 soft post players.
This was of course when Camby was the man dominating Duncan ever time Umass played Wake Forrest.
Think back to when Mario Ellie said he can't stand playing with these guys because there too soft.
Ewing
Shaq
Sports Illustrated.
Barkley
Jordon
You name it
Everybody said. Don't try to practice revisionist history after they've won 2 rings. That "soft" label is garbage. Because you know who else people said was soft before he stared winning rings. Kareem! Hoops didn't start last week man, if you come, come with some info.
