Other than Berman, is there any national or local reporter who thinks this is a good hire?

DJ.. are you any closer to being a Knick fan again?

apathy has a stronghold. i went from diehard fan to hating the team to total apathy. can't remember the last time i cheered for them (probably early 2005/06 season). it's tough to explain but i truly don't have any emotional investment anymore. i still follow bball and i'm here more b/c i enjoy posting on ultimateknicks w/ the regulars but that's about it.

it will take a while (if ever) for me to get back any emotion towards the team (either love or hate).

this is an upgrade for the knicks...no questions about it.

but it comes down to fans expecations. i think every fan wants to see this team win a title. some enjoy the ride. some aren't sold on it so they voice their disagreements. some like everything that's going on.

it's all good.

d'antoni + walsh WILL make the knicks better. nobody is disputing this.

the only question is HOW much better will they make the team. playoffs will happen eventually, and for now, that will quelch some of the thirst. but ultimately, if the plan is to build for bigger aspirations, plans must be put in place now to see the fruits of the labor in a few years. and alot of luck is involved as well.

Who is this mystery coach that we should have hired that would have gotten us to a championship? None of the nut busters has answered that yet?

We already tried Brown. Jax isn't going anywhere. Riles is washed up. Pop isn't going anywhere. Who is this guy that people would have liked over Mike D?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

there is no mystery coach. i think fans are still down on the team and it will take time for that feeling to change. if the team starts to win w/o any drama, i think many fans will start changing their outlook.

imho, this is the most important draft for the next 5 years. the knicks need to hit a homerun here b/c their 2009 pick won't be as good and they don't have a pick in 2010. the cap room plan is a nice one, but difficult to execute in nyc. if the knicks draft a stud, then fans will see there's really something to build with. but right now, with no studs on the horizon, all they can rely on is a coach to help the team overachieve.

dj, that's exactly true. We do need a young star more than any coach or any role player. The position he plays doesn't matter. We need a young player to build this team around more than anything.

doesn't matter who they hired cuz there woulda been naysayers no matter who the choice was... the only true way to judge anything is to wait & see in these types of situations... this move doesn't kill our cap & doesn't take away any playing time from kids who should be getting more minutes on this team, so i have a hard time seeing why people wanna jump the gun so early w/o even giving the guy a chance... i mean it's not like this is another Isiah who came here w/some sketchy credentials to begin with.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Exactly TMS.
