save it you said more if's in your last post than a four year old learning to talk

check the post that was the setup

shaq getting in shape and kobe becoming innocent is a much higher probablity than chris bosh and sweetney bringing the east back.

it's come to a level on this site i am a mman amongst boys'

Wrong Ice.. you are wrong, where do you see if's in my post, but if you pay atention, you will also see at the end the phrase "I don't know", and we don't, but stop making it like payton and Malone will make the west immortal for the next 20 years!!

And another thing, get off it man, Bosh and sweetney are just examples, stop acting Juvenile!!

answer this. what is the possibility of Payton and malone Keeping the west on top, and the possibility of Kidd and Mcgrady improving the quality in the east?

HUH?

Again you pick out what you want and ignore the rest!!! Typical..

You win.. I quit this topic.... lets move on. We know you won't admit where you are wrong..

it's about talent dude talent wins in the NBA going back 20 years almost every time the number one seed wins tkf.

it's no fluke all of those teams have a mvp candidate.

I can't argue that, Talent does win, but the right mix of talent is important, I mean do you really think that the spurs had more talent than SAC or LA? Time will tell man..

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Orlando: Grant hill gets hurt, if he is healthy, he and Mcgrady are as scary a Duo as there is..

Toronto: They were onto something good with vince carter, and Mcgrady. If Tracy stays who knows?

Do you think if Malone is not getting his touches that he will be content becomming a spot up shooter or diving for loose balls or the defensive stopper?

That is cool, because if shaq is not interested in being the shaq of old, 40 year old malone and a decling payton won't be enough

You right i didn't see you say if today at all.

Ice you are taking that out of context... but sinc you want to play that way..

Shaq IS no longer interested in basketball, his fat azz showed that last year

Malone will NOT get touches like he did in Utah and will not have the effect that people think..

Mcgrady does not have Hill but given time at 24 nd improving the magic will be much better with Mcgrady as Payton and Malone retire..

How is that?!!!

The balance of power comes in waves. You are looking at too short of a time span to get the whole picture. In the history of the NBA, the west has won 24 times and the east has one 33 times. I'm sure some people were whining when Boston was reeling off eight straight, or when the east won 12 straight. Relax. This is not an original concept. Bob Ryan has written about this for years. Basically saying that in the era of free agency Eastern Conference teams can not compete for free agents and there for will never again have the most dominate teams. While Bob makes better points than you, you are both equally wrong. The pendulum is starting to shift.
Lets look at the three best teams in the west.
Spurs have not gotten any better YET, and they may loose there back up point guard.
LA has gotten much much better. Forget chemistry, this team COULD win 70 games
Sacramento, the only thing they've gotten is older.
Dallas, ditto.
The spurs and Dallas still could get better but as it stands now there're in trouble.

New Jersey just got Zo.
Detroit got Darko and Larry Brown
Indiana got to keep there best player (don't sleep on this) and got new GM (Bird).
Philly is in Trouble. Notice the capital T.

Vince Carter may not like him up Bosh is the real deal. I expect Toronto back in the mix in about 2 years.
T-Mac is too good. Expect Orlando to make some noise this year.

Things are not going to turn around tomorrow but they will. As it stands now the west has the better teams.

First of all,
you can't just disregard certain players and conclude one conference is better than another
the fact is michael jordan WAS playing on an eastern conference team and that helped the east. just like the lakers have shaq. Secondly, the knicks and rockets went to a game 7 and it was a very close series..yeah the knicks lost but it isnt like houston dominated. right now the west is better than the east but that has been the cvase for the past 5 years... the lakers arent a definite to win the title look at portland, that team had a lot of talent and they didnt get anywhere. its about talent AND chemistry, for example indiana has more talent than the pistons but the pistons got to the eastern finals. You can't assume lebron is going to leave in four years ... its just like saying kobe is going to come to the east or to a lesser extent carmelo... so disregarding your bogus predictions, in 5 years or so the east will be dominant and the cycle will continue

ares, i see that you are having fun with this topic. rebuttals and stuff. well you made some good points. there should not be any arguments that the west is better than the east now. but there are some things that i disagree with you about, particualry the eastern conference in the early 90's. first, i can not stand the cavs in the early 90's but they were certainly not a joke. price and daugherty were one of the most formadible combos during that time. the team had more talent than any other. their only flaw was they were too soft and tremble at the sight of jordan. now lets examine the west best team at the time: portland. drexler was their superstar. then we have over the hill buck williams, slow terry porter, fat ass duckworth, and can't shoot the broadside of a barn jerome kersey. are you saying this team, who plays no defense by the way, could beat the top four teams in the east at that time( chicago, boston, cleveland new york)? i think not.

as far as the west dominating for years to come, that is bull****. in 5 years the pendulum will switch when the draft picks are more mature ( like chandler and curry?).

oh as far as the lakers getting payton and malone, it looks great on paper. but does this neccessarily mean they will win a championship? remember that the triangle offense is probably one of the most difficult offense to learn. and we are going to ask malone, a person who has been doing the pick and roll offense for 18 years, to adjust right away. same as payton. i am not saying that the lakers won't win next year. i am just saying that they are not invincible by any means and they could get beat.

exactly, that is the point that myself and others were trying to make, not only that but things are cyclical, right now the west is strong, but the east has a lot of young stars and teams that will be better in the near future, But for now the west is better, but that can and most likely will change.. Ares denies this.... And I along with others believe he is wrong here...

if michael was never born the west would of won the last 15 titles.

STOP!!! Don't ever blaspheme like that!!! The gods will strike you down for such insolence against their chosen messiah!
