I'll try again... what does it tell you when more European players were drafted in the first round of this years draft than all of the first rounds of the decade of the '90's??

Is it because everyone is looking for the next Dirk... or might there be another reason Dummies...

Numbers??

so you telling your logic is if we keep drafting guys out that league eventually one will be great??? thats your logic on milos??

Would you answer this, please?

... in a couple of years he'll be a real player in this league. You'll rue the day Layden traded his rights.

This is what I said.

Pike stop whining you know you lost that one. Hey wallace is eating up the summer league
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

pike, we know why more Euro players were taken in round 1, and I am telling you it is the same reason why more and more high school players are being taken in round 1 also. Guys like Lang, outlaw, Ebi,Lebron were first rounders because teams are looking for that next, Kobe, T-mac, just like they are looking for the next dirk with these Euro guys, and I ask you, what is the likely hood of that happening with either scenario?

When the small country of Yugoslavia kicks our azzes by beating NBA all stars in the world games... I WON THIS ONE... besides, if you want further proof... Playa said I lost... even though he was arguing my case earlier in the day.

i think i have answered that plenty of times

you never answered any of my question you have been evasiive

but to play your game i will answer the question

the number one reason is the nba is trying to white wash the league, the nba is to black, and most of the nba fan base is white. there are just more white people in the us than blacks

number two these foreign unknowns add excitement, most u.s fan base have never saw any of these guys and exagerrated press reports can add attention and ticket receipts.

number three to add talent, there is some fair talent over seas.

expansion is the number 4 reason face it if there were 16 teams potenpko would be out the nba.

now pike if your silly debate is too try and tell me that there is a sure fire hot bed of talent thats why so many guys from over seas. are getting drafted i will tell you don't believe the hype.

you remeber the draft reports on frederic weis

i thought so,

the whole point pike, is depite the exagerration, despite the influx there is some talent but 9 times out of tem milos vuljanic is no better than speedy claxton and turkalou aint no better than d barnes.

now you answer why d barnes out of ucla is in the d league instead of jason kapono

d barnes was twice the player he is.

and what the hell you know aabout milos. or lampe.

You make some good points in your last post... and many of you toned down comments are what I have been saying... a lot has to do with dilution and early entry.

I don't think the black/white thing is as much of a factor as you do but, you know how I tend to look at that issue.

As far as watching Vujanic and Lampe... obviously, we haven't seen them as much as the players here but, we don't prefer them because we've seen the others... basketball is growing throughout Europe like a fire in California after a drought... and everything I've read about Vujanic and the little I've seen has been impressive.

All I'm saying is... ten years ago, it would be an impossible to even imagine a continent, let alone an international team from a relatively small country could woop us... now there are many strong teams which leads to little kids in those nations looking to become... the next Darko Milicic... basketball, unlike baseball and football is EXPLODING in Europe... and if you don't think this isn't going to lead to many more players... and more and more stars... I know you're wrong... and I'll be proven right over time.

Happy with this response oh powerful GOD of WAR

Pike, that is ridiculous, bringing up the NBA team that lost, you call that team all stars? yet we did not have, Garnett, Duncan, Kidd, shaq, Kobe, etc... come on be fair dukes, they had their best against our 3rd wave dukes!!

Next, you know that stern is trying hard to appeal to the european players, why do you think all the rule changes came about. No handchecking, the Marc Jackson rule, he is turing the league soft... that is why shaq is pissed and wants to quit, stern is selling out to his new Eruopean toys.... I agree that there are some fine players over there, hopefully Lampe is one of them, but lets be real, the hype with these players is lebron Jamesesque!!

Michael Pietrus..LOL!! The next Jordan!! LOL!! Taking Darko over Carmello Anthony especially after watching melo dismantle the college ranks!!!!! LOL!!

Greek baby shaq?.. haha.. come on man!!

pike i got a fat heavy home boy of mine thats ask only about white bball players

it happens

you might think so but it's a issue.

how many black people were watching tennis before venus and serena

with out a white public travis knight and doleac would be in outdoor fishing contest.

they cant play.

i'm not saying it's wrong or right i would do it too it's marketing, it's all about the dollar. so don't confuse me with al sharpton.

but i need a favor from you, you love to say ask 100 gms' ask 100 media personel

that don't hold water with me if i ask 100 media people justin timberlake would be a awesome performer.

i judge for myself.

tkf, ridiculous to bring up a competition of basically no names from Yugoslavia to a team of NBA all-stars? I beg to differ...

and the rest of your post is very Playa-esque.

YOU GOT IT!! That was exactly the analogy I was using to argue my case about how the game has grown in Europe... thank you, ARES. Now you see where I'm coming from.
