Criticize me. I am still a fan. I still sit in the seventh row. I still cheer for the win. I am not looking for some magic lotto ticket to turn this team in to a Championship squad. We are about 9 good players away from a Championship team. I don't expect my team every time I head to the Garden. Lately, I am pleasantly surprised if they do. I don't say "support failure" or "cheer for incompetence"... but I am not overdramatic with the sense of defeatist logic that runs rampant on this board. The term "fair-weather fan" is reserved for fans that only show up when the team is doing well. I wouldn't call the whiners on this board "fair-weather fans" cause the outlook is gloomy and they are still here. The fair-weather fans are wearing Celtics and Lakers jerseys.

But, to answer the question: Is it worth being a fan anymore? Right now, you are going to put a lot more into it then you are going to get back. But you can't stop being a fan now and then pick up where you left off later, if and when they get better. It's not the same. It's easy to be a fan when a team is winning. Only you can decide whether you are willing to bear through the tough times in order to understand the good. Its very costly these days. And there is no promise of future repayment. I still care though.

Good. Keep sitting 7th row. Keep wishing that Dolan cares. Keep spending thousands. You're doing a great job.

Thank you, Rick Brunson.

$$$$$$$$$$$It has everything to do with this and that's where dolan comes into the picture and what isiah used to make this mess with. dolan may not care too much about the money, but I do think he gets humiliated because of the moves.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Its totally Dolan's fault. But the minute this team becomes good again, nobody will remember the owner's name. You only know who the owner is when he's not dong his job. If he wakes up and fires Isiah and replaces him with a Colangelo, Knick fans will come back in droves, despite the fact he still owns the team.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

People forget the NBA is a business, and this should be looked at like any business venture: are the Knicks worth your (1) money and/or (2) time both now and in the future.

The answer for me now is a resounding "NO." But I'm trying to figure out if its worth it in the future, which I'm not sure of yet. If Dolan happened to sell the team tomorrow, I'd be back immediately. But I'm sorry, I wouldn't even take free tickets to go to a game anymore. I would have gave a kidney to some of those games in the 90s if necessary.

And the Knicks are among the penny-stocks right now. The smart time to leave this team would have been about 8 years ago. Its a real buy low moment right now.

it's fine if you've decided not to support the team anymore until they show you they're serious about contending again, but i don't see where anyone gets off criticizing those who continue to support the team they've grown up loving all their lives, especially some ex-Bulls fan who jumped off their bandwagon as soon as they started to stink... blind support for a team is worth more than bandwagoning anyday of the week if you ask me.

(& let me preface that by saying i've also chosen not to go to anymore games until they show me something worth supporting, but i'm not gonna rag on anyone who still does)

Let me break down the yrs for you TMS

I liked Magic from 83-87

I liked Jordan from 87-93(Bulls won Championships in 96, 97, 98 followed the Knicks moderately)

I liked Payton from 93-98(followed the Knicks very closely wanted them to beat the Rockets)

I like the Knicks 98 to present

hey good for u dude... u can root for whoever u want, i'm not knocking who you wanna root for... but when ur jumping bandwagon to bandwagon as you do you really have no business criticizing loyal fans of a franchise who've been supporting this team for almost their entire lives as if you're so much better than they are... that's all i'm saying.

I was just giving evidence to some of things said which supported what Evil mentioned. Once again not directed at anyone in particular but for some reason you're always one of the first or last to take offense. If you go back and re-read the thread you'll see Evil swung first with the "Badge Of Honor" crack all I did was run with it. There really was no bandwagoning considering I liked such player equal amount of yrs seeing them lose as much as they won.

not sure what i said that indicates i took offense... just found the fact that an ex Bulls fan would try & tell lifelong Knicks fans how they should support their team as pretty comical.

All I said is some of things said or expressions of fanfare are Corny and Comical IMO. Never went to the extent of telling someone what they should do as a fan. I even asked in the thread I created what fans would do if this continued for another 3yrs and offered what I would do. Constantly throwing in ex-Bulls fan and calling someone a FRAUD shows there's some kind of irritation.

The expressions are comical not the actions, not sure why you're stuck on what I find humerous.

I don't get this either. Trueblue used to be a Bulls fan but is now a Knick fan. Who cares? Why not focus on the content of his arguments?
