can't we just hire Colangelo & be done with it?

this is NY, we do things the hard way

i'd wanna kick Steve Mills along w/Isiah to the curb all in 1 fell swoop & just give Colangelo the President & GM duties for at least 4 years & see what he can do w/this pathetic situation we find ourselves in right now... but you're right, this is NY... why do things the logical way when you can do things the Dolan way?

How's this for pissing in your corn flakes?

**********************************

From the New York Post..
The Knicks have had preliminary discussions with Kiki Vandeweghe about replacing Isiah Thomas in the front office, but possibly allowing Thomas to continue as head coach, a person with knowledge of the talks told the Daily News.

James Dolan is prepared to strip Thomas of his title as Knicks president, but as implausible as it may seem, the Garden chairman appears committed to keeping Thomas on the bench.

The source claims that Vandeweghe would be willing to accept the job of rebuilding the Knicks even if it meant having to retain Thomas.

When reached late yesterday, Vandeweghe denied having had any contact with the Knicks. "I have a job right here," said Vandeweghe, a special assistant to Nets president Rod Thorn. "That's my only focus." -- New York Daily News

Why the hell would you do that? Unless he's either A) that spiteful, or B) thinks it would cause Zeke to quit.

I'm sure to many it's not "pissing" on their corn flakes.

No thank you to Kiki. Can't bring in someone who drafted Skita 5th and traded picks and signed Kenyon Martin to the MAX.

This franchise needs Jerry Colangelo, Jerry West or Donnie Walsh.

Anyone else is a big waste of time.

Kiki had a pretty mediocre track record with the draft and didn't do so great once he actually had the cap space. What he did do well is dump bad contracts, get picks and get them in a position to succeed...which is bare minimum, job #1 for this position. Then again he won't have the Knicks to bail him out with a McDyess/Camby+top 10 pick style picks anymore.

If KMart was the same Kmart as he was in Jersey, we would see the Nuggs go far into the playoffs.

KMART wasn't the same KMART from NJ because he didnt have J.Kidd hand feeding him the ball under the basket.

The guys a bum.

kiki did a good job with denver.

You must be out of your mind.

The only difference between Kiki and Thomas was that Kiki was FORTUNATE enough to have drafted Carmelo Anthony. Thats it.

and getting rid of a max deal in juwan howard...
and getting rid of a max deal in nick van exel...
and adding andre miller...
and trading a gimp dice for knick fan's wet dream of marcus camby...
and going to the playoffs year after year...

kiki did a good job with denver. he *just* didn't draft melo. he did all the things i said above.

oh, and yes, he DID draft melo unlike dumars before him who drafted a major bust.

his biggest mistakes were the 2002 draft when he took skita and nene. and nobody was taking amare b/c he was locked up to the suns 2 months before the draft.

and he didn't get into a media war with his coach and didn't sexually harrass anyone either. yeah, but other than those things, him and isiah are virtually twins...

Great job DJ some just don't get it.

It's funny how I SAY UGH(maybe not at this point) was afforded so many excuses from fans for the clear cut mistakes he's made but now that we're thinking about a replacement the guy coming in has to have, not a 100% but 1000% track record.

FYI...

J. Howard and his MAX contract was traded for N. Van Exel and his MAX contract. Both were expiring contracts that same year.

with that said......

Right, but he also got rid of Lafrentz and Abdul-Wahad's crappy contracts in that Dallas deal and got back expiring deals in Tim Hardaway and Donnell Harvey.

Edit: And he traded for the rights to Linas Kleiza, although Julius Hodge was his own crappy selection.

And the dude got a 1st round pick out of the Warriors for Rodney White and Skita.

not only that, but K-mart was being courted by other teams, unlike eddy curry. The hawks invited K-mart to atlanta and the clown didn't even come for the free wining and dining.. LOL... did denver overpay? yes, but come on, if this is all people have to hang over kiki's head.... Ask jerry west why he gave brian cardinal a huge contract.... every GM makes mistakes..Kiki has done a lot of good. Denver is not relevant when they were a mess several years ago.. and the knicks now are irrelevant and have been for the past 4 or more years..

Knee operation happen while he was in Denver but the knee problems were always there....regardless, like I stated, he will never be the player he was in Jersey because he will never play with a PG like J.Kidd again.

yeah, i'm serious... i think KMart could help this team more than Zach does... i've made that public many times in the past... they both have equally horrible contracts... to me it's all about which player fits the needs of our franchise more

yeah, my understanding was that Kiki gave K-Mart the $90 mil contract knowing about K-Mart's knee problems.

havent read the whole thread so dunno if this has been touched on but

KiKi will do nothing here.

He will be another puppet. Follow Dolans rules. We're doomed. This would be a move strictly to bandaide something that is in need of surgery.

We need collangalo. or West. Someone who wont take no ****... Dolan needs to wash his hands and step away

Isiah deserves to remain in the organization in some capacity. I think he would be good as head of advertising. But he should be denied contact with the players. And he should be expected to show Kiki lots of love every morning.
