Well everyone is talking about great a coach Larry Brown, is, was and has been, the truth of the matter is "WHAT THE FUCK DID HE DO FOR US?" someone please enlighten me.

One of the things he did right was trading for Steve Francis and Jalen Rose, then trading those two along with Frye to Portland for Zach Randolph.
https:// It's not so hard.

To everyone asking "What did Larry do for us?" What the hell was he supposed to do for us? When he tried to coach the team, the GM did not support him. Point blank. That's a fact. When Larry challenged Marbury, Isiah took Marbury's side. What the hell is Larry supposed to do? Don't give me this whole negativity in the press garbage. You ever hear Phil Jackson or George Popovich talk about their teams in the media? They use negative press as a motivational tool. You hear what Stan Van Gundy said about Dwight Howard? Only in NY can a coach not call out his players.

Larry Brown (and every other coach that has coached under the current regime) was hamstrung by the restrictive culture of the Knicks organization. It is a culture of losing and it existed before he got here and it continues to thrive even after he is gone. But if you look at his previous tenures, and you look past his way overblown indiscretions, you'll see the man has been part of winning teams for almost his entire career. So far all his drawbacks attitude-wise, he still knew how to do something right (i.e. win).

evil, he definitely know how to win. but I don't think his indiscretions are way overblown. virtually everywhere he's been (and it's been a lot, among his college stops, aba stops, multitude of nba stops) by the time he leaves people are sick the f of him and he's poisoned the waters once again. ask the old denver fans, who he f'd over while coaching them, or the nj ones who he walked out on in the playoffs, or the detroit ones who saw him negotiaing for a different gm job while he should have been coaching a repeating nba champ team..

personally I thought larry, isiah and marbury should have all been fired en masse after that season.

And this was DURING the Finals, too. Unreal.

Zeke and Little Jimmy should've done a "Buyer Beware" before bringing him in.

All i know is its threads like this that make me hope Flip Saunders wins a Title with the Pistons this year.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Well, Joe D might kick him to the curb if they don't make it to the Finals.

If they lose to the Cavs again, i don't blame him. But if they lose to the Celts, that would be a rough way to go.

Maybe his indiscretions are not overblown. Maybe I'm just so overwhelmed by the type of mismanagement that has been going on here under Isiah, that I was willing to accept the painful road to winning led by Larry Brown over the excruciating road to utter mediocrity and stagnation that Isiah has paved. For as bad as Larry had been with the Sixers and all his clashes with AI, I've seen Iverson cry over the impact the man had on him. LB knows something about basketball. He has something to offer. I have no doubt that if he had remained and Isiah had been canned -- the Knicks would be better off today. No one is perfect. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. With the current regime -- we have to take the bad with the terrible.
