Maverick A Strike Summer League Shift (Plus One) Du Jour

1. You Go Nate

2. Renaldo

3. The Mayor

4. David Lee

5. Randolph Morris

6. Zach as sixth man

Misterearl, I have to say, I find it morally reprehensible that you include Zach Randolph on a list of our hard working youthful foundation (even as sixth man).

You enjoying this season RemBee? Lord knows you deserve it.

Nice of you to show your face around here again.

Hmm, glad I missed this last night.

One wonders why any Knick Fan would say another particular Knick Fan "deserves" what we knick fans have had to go through, but then, it only confirms what we have always known about you Isles. That for you, this was never really about the Knicks.

rembee, sir you are once again, dead on the money. I stand corrected.

I would also add that my morally reprehensible stance on Zach Randolph is distant second to the questionable decison-making of the Governor of the great State of New York.

Possibly Earl, but remember this is New York. Ain’t our money.

Z-Bo was a bad idea from go. Sure, instead of getting a front-court partner for Curry who helps ameliorate the missing parts of his game, let’s get him someone that accentuates them. And let’s cut some of Lee’s minutes while we are at it.

There is no single magic pill to fix these Knicks (though to hear some tell it that pill would be Derrick Rose) but I can’t help thinking this team would have come far closer to those preseason 42 win expectations had we used the assets we burned for Zach to trade up for one Sean Williams. But that’s water under the bridge.

Portland decided that Randolph should play no part in their rebuild, and look where they are now. We need a GM/POBO who can see the same.

I understand that Eliot Spitzer will soon be looking for a job.

rembee - I'm just impressed that you used the word "ameliorate" in a post. Zach Randolph, despite his versatility, represents too much baggage for our impressionable yoots. I get the impression that having a rock steady point guard would go a long way towards ameliorating the Knicks rhythm and roll issues. That is why I am announcing (against any impression that I am playing favorites) my next great campaign push (right on the heels of Wilson Chandler's relentless candidacy for Mayor) ...

... for Jerryd Bayless as Police Commissioner.

As The Impressions once said, "Keep on Pushin'"

In terms of Z-Bo, it's a song we've been listening to far too often so I'll just mention the first few words: "He's not the only one."

We don't just need a point guard. We need a true floor general that makes guys better and accentuates their strengths instead of ignoring them and/or exposes their weaknesses. I know we should draft one but I'm not certain if we have the right environment to thrust a rookie point guard into this much responsibility.

Unless there are some changes in management, of course.

k22 - totally agree with your assessment of what the Knicks are in desperate need of. Unfortunately, floor generals are almost impossible to predict. If that were the casy, all the teams that passed on Tony Parker would not be slapping their collective foreheads.

My criteria is: decent size (at least 6'2), the ability to handle a basketball in heavy traffic, an alert pair of unselfish non-lyin' eyes, poise, a change of pace, the ability to pass with either hand, a lefthanded layup, nice shoes, a relatively peaceful childhood, a fluid backpedal to get back on defense, no pregnant girlfriends, a determined work ethic, preferably decent grades in class, the ability to learn from his inevitable mistakes, a nice smile and the ability to make friends.

It ain't that deep.

or is it?
