he probably lost the team. so keeping him around would be a bad idea as 2 players are in contrat years and they are underperforming. not only will it hurt their stock but you run the risk of losing the season. the team won 49 games last year and go to the 2nd round. so i can see why they had to fire the coach.
if you are saying scott skiles gave up on this chicago team firing is probably the next best thing.
but when players and coaching go through a down period upper echelon should allow room for improvement.....hence finish the season to some point and make adjustments.
the signal i receive with this type of firing is a vote of no confidence and a message of humiliation is sent.
you have to wonder how hot is the pressure cooker for his predecessor.
