I have absolutely no problem with Eddie learning the game and being patient as he develops. But TMS is correct, that last game is a glimpse of what Eddie could do if he brought that attitude every night. Fans know this and this is why they are tough on him. I am willing to bet that the fans being tough on him is part of his motivation to get better, so I applaud the fans for this. Forget the guys that call him garbage, blah, blah, blah. This is just a small minority that we seem to overreact to. I'm talking about the average fan. The average fan understands that Eddie is growing and has the ability to improve. But the average fan is knowledgeable enough to not tolerate a lack of effort when they see one. As long as Eddie gives that type of effort he will be saluted. But when he slacks the fans will complain. That is life. That is NY. Let's just hope he's ready for it.

Again MisterEarl, no need to protect these guys. They are professional athletes and can take it. College kids get a lot worse and they find a way to handle it, I'm sure Eddie can handle some grumbling when he loafs up court.

1blk and 8rbs can really get a board going for a franchise center we traded two lottery picks, the level of expectation in new york has really dropped

Hats off to Isiah has really is a genius, he can manipulate any situation

Curry will go back to his old ways as soon as we play a team with interior defense.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

That's why he was hired by Dolan in first place. And he is working his pay check pretty good.

Eddy's shown throughout his career that he can play this way, why last night was such a surprise is curious to me... what he needs to show is his ability to bring it every night... he can absolutely dominate any time he wants to, we all saw it for a string of several games last season when he went on that tear in mid season... i love seeing him play that way & that's why it irks me when i hear nimrods refer to him as garbage... the dude can play, he just needs what most young players need, & that is to learn consistency.

I don't think I have ever seen him play with that much effort on the boards. Even when he didn't get the reb, he was keeping the ball alive on tips & tip outs, or at least attempting to, he missed badly one time and swatted air.

With the crowd yelling Ed-dy, Ed-dy, Ed-dy. Hopefully he wants that feeling again to have the crowd supporting him like that and continues with the enspired play.

None of us really know where this is going. But Eddy should understand that he has something to prove regarding his defense and rebounding and one good quarter proves nothing. It's possible that we will see more consistent effort in these areas. I certainly hope so.

He's been in the league 6 seasons...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

6 seasons

Drafted third overall in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, Billups was traded to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Kenny Anderson midway through his first season. Billups then played for the Denver Nuggets, who traded him to the Orlando Magic, although he was on the injured list until season's end and never played a game for Orlando.

He was signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves as a back-up to then point guard Terrell Brandon. Billups replaced the often-injured Brandon and had a breakthrough 2001-2002 season.

So one player every decade or so makes a huge turnaround after 6 years?

And Chauncey did turn his career around after six years but even in this rare, extreme example, 2 unprotected lottery picks, 2 2nd round picks, and 2 expiring contracts would have been a poor gamble for the player.

Bonn - hindsight is 20-20

c'mon, do you really think Joe Dumars was worrying about Chancey's balance sheet when they raised the championship banner?

enjoy the ride.

If Eddy averages over 20 ppg on 55% shooting with 8rbs, 1 block and an assist thrown in he is an all-star.

Doesn't take a genius to know thats a good situation.

I would have absolutely no problem with those numbers, especially if he throws in the effort he threw in in the last quarter of the last game. He-ll with that effort we could win if he averaged 16 and 8 and 1 block. Of course if he gave that type of effort on a regular basis his numbers would be through the roof and this talk of stats and all-star teams would be a given.

The BEATLES: "Cry Baby Cry"

smile Eddy, smile
keep your joy awhile
you're old enough better
so smile Eddy smile

The king of Marigold was in the kitchen
Cooking breakfast for the team
The queen was in the parlour
Making cardboard cutouts of the children of the king

Smile Eddy smile
Keep your joy awhile
She's old enough to know better
So Smile Eddy smile

The king would hold tell her tersely
all the ticket-holdin' whities can go away
And then he'd hold her gently
whis-per-in "I can't get no love today?"

Smile Eddy Smile
Hold your head up high
We're old enough to know better
So Smile Eddy Smile

The king was in the Garden
Picking players for a team who came to play
The queen was in the courtroom
Painting pictures for the jurors to make him pay.

Smile Eddy Smile
You don't have to go to trial

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
