Just win baby

I can't believe BSeats wanted a definition of a winning seasen.

Winning = whatever it takes to make the playoffs

As Golden State reminded us, once you get in - anything can happen,

My question was in the context of you saying that Isiah needed to "win" this season to keep his job.

So are you stating that if we win 41 games and miss the playoffs you'd expect (support?) the firing of Isiah?

Not to jump in on your various arguments but I think Zeke will jump Kidd in a heartbeat...No way a guy like Kidd would wield the kind power over the Knicks organization that he has over the Nets...If the Larry Brown ouster didn't tell you that, I don't know what will...Also, Zeke wasn't afraid to get Larry...He waited a long period to get the chance to speak to Larry Brown...

Fratello's agent wanted 5 year with lumpy money...I wouldn't give Fratello fives years...thats insane...

The Answer Man Makes Like Adrian Peterson and Evades Another Attempted Tackle

Q. blueseats - So are you stating that if we win 41 games and miss the playoffs you'd expect (support?) the firing of Isiah?

A. What I'm sayin' is that even the sour-faced Marbury appeared more animated and players are talking to each other with conviction. I'm sayin' that if Zach going 22 and 17 isn't a mirage, that it don't matter if Eddy Curry's and David Lee ain't superstars. All we need is a set of industrial-strength titanium headbands for Renaldo's because Dennis Rodman NEVER had his combination of timing, hops, speed and handle.

Bonn - I could not agree more.

The "practice" of starting threads which have boring headlines, or redundant topics detracts from a conversation with a rhythm, perspective or a sense of history.

it's a long season

nyny - outstanding stuff

“It's about time we turned the corner,'' Crawford said. “We're as deep as any team. It's not like injuries should hold us back. There's no excuse this year. Making the playoffs, we won't be happy with. We honestly feel like we're as good as any team in the East.''

“I think I come with the team, so I don’t think I can separate myself from the team’s achievements or its disappointments,” he said. “So whatever we do together as a group, we should all get credit for. Whatever we do together as a group, we’ll all take the blame for.” - Isiah Thomas

It's a win-win scenario. Given the events of the offseason, Friday's game against the Cavs is as good a place to start playing bettter basketball as any.

"It is an article of faith among the players and Coach Isiah Thomas that the new season will provide some sort of sanctuary, and that good basketball can trump a bad off-season. Yet they also concede that losing, as the Knicks have done for six straight years, will only exacerbate matters." - NYTimes

Might as well pull up a lawn chair and enjoy the ride.

Are you enjoying the ride yet misterearl?

I sure as hell am.

73 games remaining

The Marbury Mutiny jacked up the West Coast karma but even with the added distraction of Zach's absence, there have 4 losses settled by less than 5 points.

Yep.
They still can play it off... the leg out of bounds...
I know they will do it long time back.

Bonn - why do you feel the need to "hold" me to something I have already accepted total responsibility for?

Bonn - MSG employee? You funny.

I guess it was sitting in the balcony of the old Garden that has impaired my judgement. Ah, those were the days...

“You can easily crawl out and make it to the playoffs,” Marbury said Saturday night, after the Knicks absorbed a 115-83 rout in Denver. “But it’s very early, we’re still in November. I guess we just have to let whatever is supposed to happen, happen.”
