The other thing that is wrong here is Berman's first sentance:

October 19, 2007 -- The Knicks have not experienced a season-ticket falloff because of the 11.6 million Isiah Thomas-Anucha Browne Sanders sexual harassment verdict.

The contents of the article don't really support that statement, since the renewal numbers are from before the verdict.

I'm not a journalist, but there are so many things wrong with this article, it isn't funny. No wonder guys are confused and arguing over it.

Isles, the discussion was about a particular point in time when dissatisfaction with the team led to a drop in ticket sales, post-Brown's tenure as coach. Calling it Isiah's fiasco, or Dolan's fiasco, wouldn't be specific to that because we are still experiencing those fiascos.

And if you really think Brown doesn't deserve blame for how poorly his tenure went as Knick coach, we'll have to agree do disagree.

Everybody would have understood if they hadn't included "Larry Brown's fiasco" and just left it at "the 23-59 disaster". There was no reason to include it. Fans didn't care about the arbitration concerning LB's contract, they only cared about their record that year, which they were ALL to blame for.

Maybe we should be wondering why some "fans" get their under things all in a bunch when someone notes how MSG got more renewals they expected.

Who got their under things all in a bunch about renewals?

Some of us are just ridiculing another piece of propaganda that MSG is releasing.

Come on guys. The last thing printed in the Post that was examined this thoroughly was a pixeled-out shot of Brittney exiting a limo on Page Six.

I think we should move on.

As Rembee points out, we don't have the figures on season ticket sales this year, so we can't know if they are down or up or the same. All we know is that 91% of season ticket holders (among them that sucker djsunyc) renewed.

that's close but i believe the proper phrase is that idiot djsunyc

Speaking of potential Knicks Centers:

Hornets release Chenowith, Richardson

The Hornets waived center Eric Chenowith and forward Anthony Richardson Friday, trimming their roster to 15 players. Both players were signed as free agents on Oct. 1, prior to the start of training camp.

Chenowith, who spent last season in the Puerto Rican League, did not appear in a preseason game and had been sidelined with a heel injury for most of training camp

Wasnt he the dude that Layden drafted along with that Turkish guy. IIRC there wasnt any useful bodies picked that late during that draft.

And yes most of us acknowledge that Isiah's a good drafter.

The current trendy opinion is to start Lee with one or the other - Zach or Eddy.

I would offer that The BFC was never going to cohere without flaws in five pre-season games. It would seem the criteria for effectiveness is the sum total of stats. Eddy and Zach have only double-digit scored together once so far.

Cleveland has some frontcourt issues. And since I plays 'em one at a time, the Cavs game is another opportunity to make another step.

A road opener win, anchored by the Big Three would be huge.

"We're just getting to be comfortable around each other," said Curry, who had 18 points and seven rebounds but whose aggressiveness inside was compromised by 0-for-5 shooting from the line. "We're just getting a feel for what it's like, but I can tell it's going to be good out there for both of us."

"It's exciting to me," said Randolph, who had 21 points and 14 rebounds in his Knicks debut, whose left-handed touch from 15 feet and beyond couldn't help but conjure a dusty image or two of Willis Reed. "I thought the two of us worked awfully well together, and it's only going to get better."

Once Zach learns to keep his eyes up for David Lee it could get interesting. Lee is bringing another dynamic to the big and will get huge minutes.

Find a 6'8 three with passing skills to see the interior traffic better than Q and provide a more problemmatic matchup for skilled 3's around the league.

Q on Carmelo scares me.

Only Human

Randolph, acquired from Portland on draft night last June, admitted to having some pregame jitters, which led to some heavy shots early on and a 6-for-18 night from the floor.

"Just amped up, I guess," he said. "I'm glad I got that up out of me in the first game. I put a lot on it. I ain't played too good, but I thought I played good defense and I rebounded pretty good. Sometimes it's going to be like that, so you've got to do other stuff."
