(please bippity, with all due respect, please read this next part slowly an allow it to marinate a minute)

Could the ruthless and derrogatory Isiah Thomas, at his absolute worst (or best - whatever suits your perspective), really be so different, in TONE and intent, from Michael Corleone or Tony Soprano?

and those guys get great ratings.

At what point in this thread did I talk about Isiah? The only time I remember talking about Isiah in the past two days was on another thread when I said I don't know who is telling the truth Isiah or Anucha and feel sorry for both of them. So once again no matter how slowly I read your post I still don't understand what the heck you are talking about.

When I have a conversation with someone, if they are having a hard time understanding me I fall back on everything I have learned about relating with people. If someone is having a hard time understanding me I try to find another way of expressing my point so that they can understand. And once they do, we can continue our conversation, both understanding and appreciating the points that we each are making. I try to avoid the arrogant idea that if someone doesn't understand me, it's their fault. That I'm communicating magnificently but my CONVERSATION partner is too stupid, slow, dimwitted or not trying hard enough. In the end I realize that the idea of a CONVERSATION is to communicate, not to talk at people just so I can hear myself speak

This was not directed at anyone in particular just random passive-aggressive thoughts.

So why do you continue to bother with certain posters whom you know are gonna continue being the way they are. I rarely bother with certain ones, b/c as I said 5,000,000 times, people don't change. Argueing in this sense is overrated, with exceptions of course, like if you're argueing to teach, but that's when your students are willing to listen to you. Most people, who argue, however, are NOT willing to listen, even though, ironically, we have 2 ears and just 1 mouth.

That is a good point. I've often times wondered why I still talk to you as well

You have to remember I don't change either. I will get 40 posts in before I realize that the other person just isn't interested in debating the topic at hand. That's why I need young whippersnappers like yourself to snap me out of it. You've posted with me long enough to know that I will ignore a poster one month, only to find myself embroiled in a 4 week long conversation the next month with the same poster about whether Tim Duncan is better than Clarence Weatherspoon. 99% of the time this happens during the offseason when no one is really interested in talking about basketball. Let's be real, outside of Nixluva not to many guys are staying on topic. I on the other hand am starved for any topic. That's why I find myself forcing someone to talk about the relevancy of the KNicks to people in other states, when all they really want to do is write poetry.

It's difficult because I spend much of my time planning my Bippity get togethers.

Its really going to come down to timing. Between coaching(which I think this is my last year-yes I know I've said that before) and work I don't get a lot of time to spend with my son. Weekends I like to spend as much time as possible with him. So far each time we've had a get together he's won. If we continue this forever I will make it to one sooner or later. I just can't give you a date. Maybe when he's old enough to not be cute anymore.

When I have a conversation with someone, if they are having a hard time understanding me I just use a foolproof method for getting on the same page. I get closer to them and politely say,

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?"

works every time

The Knicks backcourt. Five Questions

1. Marbury looks thinner

2. Does Mardy Collins have next?

3. If a stronger Jamal fight through a pick does that mean he can play the point?

4. Where are the reports on Jared Jordan's first day of practice?

5. Can Fred Jones hit the broadside of a barn with a watermelon-sized nerf ball?

Not a single PG of the future among them.
