Its not surprising but its a ton of minutes and those heavy miles will come knocking just like they have on Marbury.

Do you expect a 2002 with 40,000 miles to have better reliability in the future or a 1996 with 160,000 miles?

To fit your comparison, you should probably say 120,000 miles vs 40,000. Nonetheless, either way, honestly, it depends on the car. I've seen people have severe issues with cars at 40,000 miles and I've known people who have gotten to nearly 200,000 miles with little issues with the car other than routine maintenance. On the broad scale, you're correct. On an individual basis, not necessarily.

I'm rooting like hell for Zeke because every game he wins I know the pain you guys will suffer. I'm saving all of these blogs and remembering all of your names. Danny Aings only got this deal because him and McHale were friends. If Zeke had the same players Ainge had and offered up to Mchale he would have turned the deal down.(it's a black thing) Ainge was no genious he just had a friend in his old playing buddy and when they get rid of Doc Rivers ( you know the Brother?) and Mchale gets fired and get hired in Boston you'll see what I'm talking about. Zeke have a bunch of guys who will play hard for him. KG, Ray Allen , Paul Pierce??? What have they won??? Anything less than going to the finals is a bust for Boston
.
One more thing!!! I asure you that the Knicks will be ready for Boston. Let KG block Curry's donks. (He might break his hand)

LONG LIVE ZEKE AND THE KNICKS!!

kg's extension is for 3 years, $51 mil so he's under contract for 5 more years.

seeing all 3 of them holding up the jerseys was pretty damn cool.

nix - i think 99% of all bball fans will be rooting for that team this season.

Put me in the 1% catagory!

I dig Ray Allen and his game, and KG is great, but its that puke Exercist green color that makes me sick.

Kudos to Ainge for getting two classy guys to sit on B!tch Pierce who was likely not all that marketable as a trade commodity. Isiah gets "Zeddy" (two guys that can be included in the "Wizard of Oz". Eddy needs a heart, and Zack needs a brain) to dress up our franchise malcontent (DumbBury) and Ainge gets real men.

I don't see the celts taking our shiney stuff, but I don't see them getting any either. Not unless they get a point or Blue Rondo steps it up.

I think most players start breaking down due to age around the 35000-37000 minute mark. I'mnot sure though. I just think thats around the time I think for guys like Patrick, Hakeem and Barkley.

I think it's potentially a passable measure for the average player, but individual players may do more or less. Unfortunately, there's more factors involved than just this, so I don't think you can make that interpretation. Plus, what about minutes in college? Do those count? Do extreme workouts count?

The potential for older players to break down is there, but these players are not broken down yet, IMHO. I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt in that regard.

djsu - 99% of all basketball fans rooting for the Celtics exactly why?

based on what criteria?

You're saying that fans of SanAntonio, LA and Dallas and Phoenix are going to suddenly jump loyalty like the chicken-liver hearted so-called Knicks fans who run for cover, or propose fantasy "get Kobe now" deals, just because of some latent affinity for the Celtics?

c'mon... what da dealio?

Certainly not the city itself.

i think when they make the playoffs, the casual viewer will get behind kg and the celtics.

why does the "casual" viewer back the Celtics and not some other franchise?

I hate the Celtics.

i think it has more to do with kg and how the nba is going to push that team. i think for the most part, all fans like kg, and don't dislike ray allen + pierce. they'll push the 3 allstar players, 1 all time great, fighting together for their first ring angle...it has nothing to do with the celtics.

Plus, the NBA will tell the officials to make sure all the calls go the Celtics way.

LMAO at the picture comparison. Wow, that sums it all up.

I have to say, as a Knicks fan living in Boston, I'll probably now take in some Celts games, something I wouldn't have contemplated the past few years.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I agree. Heck, I'm a Knicks fan and I don't love the Celtics AT ALL, but I'm curious to see if Ray and Pierce and KG can do it. It's intriguing.

VERY interesting to me that this trade finally goes through right after the ref scandal leaks - the league looks like its at its lowest point and suddenly one of the most storied franchises in the sport gets one of the best players in the game and has an express ticket to the finals. I think those reports of David Stern losing his power were a little premature.

I'm in Boston to. Hate the C's but will definitely go to some games this year. Normally have courtside for Knicks games thanks to my Knicks hook up.
I just hope that people will like me

Anji - since the Celtics photo employed an existing player (Pierce), why not swap Lee for Dickau and then, if you have a moment to imagine, swap out Fred Jones and replace him with Eddy Curry and Wilson Chandler?

maybe then we can compare recent frontcourt acquisitions more accurately

I like our guys
