Keeping in mind that it's Summer League, I think we're starting to see some payoff from Isiah's ability to evaluate the talent of younger, emerging players. I only hope that there will be enough opportunity for all these interesting young players to get pt during the regular season.
Otherwise, so far as our favorite lightning rod Isiah Thomas, I'm still not crazy about his trades, though I'm reserving judgment on the Zach Randolph trade until next year. We gotta get rid of some of these non-contributing veteran contracts and let these young guys get some experience. I think the fans will support them.

Do most teams have third year players in summer league games?
I don't think it's all that common, although I believe Ron Artest played summer league a few years back. Sure, Nate is more experienced than most other players (although quite a few have played for years in other pro leagues) but for all who complain about dedication of players, clearly Nate is trying to improve himself as a player and see how it would work with his future teammates against competition.
My sense is that the competition level is not as significant of a factor as one can observe a significant difference in the way Nate is playing in SL versus on the Knicks the past 2 seasons. Some who are ranting about players who had big SL performances and were busts, seem to feel as if SL is always meaningless, which is a gross oversimplification. If that is the case then why does the NBA bother having it at all? The negative perspective is so tired and cliche at this point that how can one have any kind of perspective if all one does is go on about the (possible) bad side of things? In terms of Nate, this is not to say he will suddenly turn out 20 points and 8 assists this year, but he looks like he has a much better shot of contributing more value to the team on the floor, and perhaps to other teams, than the last two seasons. It may be that he doesn't improve much next year but I think to deny a difference in his play (unless some of you haven't watched the SL games) is to deny observable evidence as if that has no value in judging a players potential.

Very very well said..true blue is getting old and his posts are truely tired. It's time to change your tune.
Do you want him to create a new handle the same way you did?
LOL! That would solve the "problem"!
Apologies to Ike and Jones.
BTW, this is trueblues second handle (remember seatsblue, blueseats) and my first handle.
I know rv, but I'm not rv. he runs the hosting company that hosts my site.

Anyone think, he might be worth keeping if he can play under control and play defense. I think he would be a good guy to have if he applied himself like he did in the SL. His goal should be to lead the league in assists coming off the bench. LOL
