Yeah, but you can pretty much count on one hand the NBA vets that play like that. Battier, Ben Wallace... (sound of Crickets)...

I think you are simplyifying this greatly. Yes, it is impossible to play 82 games at full intensity for 48 minutes. Yes there are a lot of slackers. But if you look at the teams that win 50+ games and make runs in the playoffs you will see teams that give maximum effort. Our starting line-up is not in that class. If we are willing to settle and be mediocre than lets accept the effort our guys give. But if you want intensity don't just look at the cliche guys like Battier, Wallace and Balkman. Look at how hard the core guys like Duncan and Ginobli and Parker and Nowitzki and Nash and pretty much everyone on these rosters plays.

We can't hope to match their results at this point, but there is no reason we can't match their intensity.
