I can't get a good read on how many fans want an Artest trade to go down. Lets help the newspapers, Isiah and anyone else reading by showing them which way we lean. As a Knick fan, if you can get Artest without giving up David Lee, do you gamble?

Ric Bucher reporting Lee and Jeffries for artest is the offer

This will make Knicks well rounded team.

Jefferies and Nate won't get you Artest which is what the Knicks have been offering. Thomas is taking a weird stance over Lee.

If Lee weren't such a big fan favorite, Isiah wouldn't have a second thought about trading him.

Doesn't Jeffries have a big trade kicker if he gets traded? Which makes it even less likely that he'll be traded at all, much less for Artest?

Last year Jeffries was the "Missing Piece" and now he's the "Albatross" because Isiah outsmarted himself by throwing in the trade kicker. Even Isiah takes advantage of Isiah.

I think there is more to it than just being a fan fav. And fan fav in NY usually means you are playing your ass off and producing.

I didn't mean to suggest that Lee isn't productive, just that his popularity most likely gives Isiah great pause in trade talks, especially when it involves someone as risky as Artest.

IT should add a protected 1st round pick to that deal. Getting Jeffries bad contract off the books and opening up a roster spot will be worth it.

You sound like you're saying Isiah can't wait to trade Lee but for the popularity thing. Isiah loves the kid and wouldn't have drafted him otherwise. You make it seem like he's a Layden leftover Isiah is stuck with.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

This is a big factor. I think IT likes Lee's game but he also knows about Lee's popularity and if he trades Lee for Artest and Artest goes crazy, IT is smart enough to know he is going to have alot of explaining to do. Lee is not going to be included in any trade that does not involve us getting a superstar in return, like a Kobe or KG.
