I learned all my photoshop skills just by using the program. The tutorials are pretty good. I'm by no means an expert, but still... I'm living proof that any fool can do it.

Exactly. I think anyone can learn anything they want to, if they're willing to invest the time. (Although, my little cavaet is some people have natural talents and interests and will master certain things easier). My girlfriend is also good with Photoshop. She actually made my "company" logo for my MBA simulation last year. Every other team had a crappy or generic logo they found on the net. We had a nice, cool Photoshopped one.
