The whole point is that this is an UPGRADE at a problem position. We all know we needed a more forceful offensive PF and so we got one. He will bang and board like we need and he can score. So what's the problem? yeah is got baggage, but that's the reason we have most of our guys that we didn't draft. As for how this helps the team, I think that's obvious. Zach can flat out ball and we STILL HAVE LEE!!! That's all positive to me.

There were guys calling for Frye to be traded and now it's a problem? Francis was an awful fit and we gave him a chance to adjust, but he couldn't. Now he's gone, so that's another plus.

The whole point is the Knicks are not moving anywhere from the path they took under Dolan. This path so far is a complete dead end.
If this will be fantasy league this will make some sense. Zack can produce some stats.
Othervise it's just same waste of money and space.
Zack will take minutes from Lee together with his points, rebounds, and development as a player. And Lee will have no business to resign with the Knick.
He will also take points and rebounds from Eddy and will make Eddy irrelevant because Eddy is not really relevant already.
In place of good character kid in Fry we are getting headcase and trouble.
Same old stuff... IT is a master to pick up some sh...t which nobody in the league want even tuch

Q. highfivesucka - I understand what you are saying, but my point is that if you make a short list of our biggest weaknesses that we had last season, and then look at our roster after this trade, how many of those weaknesses does it really help?

A. Power forward was a weakness. Frye struggled to find a comfort spot on the floor. David Lee, although he is the people's choice, simply needs to work on his shot, drop some of the the extra weight he gained to play center at Florida and return to his personna as a skill forward. Mailk Rose is Malik Rose.

The Knicks shooting from outside was abyssmal.

Zack Randolph, although he is not "likable", is not pretty to look at, is NOT sexy, and has a history of being associated with the Jail Blazers, can hit a short lefthanded jumper in the tradition of Willis Reed (yeah, I said it) and snatch some manly rebounds. He is a warrior.

Not a movie star, but a dude who will spit out enough production to make people who actually watch basketball to recognize his ability. Not the biased, image-based, crap based on perception and streotyping.

Since when was producing 24 and 10 a negative?

and how do we know the other first-round selections, Randolph Morris and Wilson Chandler, will be busts?

or the bonus selection of sniper Demetris Nichols?

Or, stated another way... read my lips... Chad Ford is a putz.

If Z-BO avg 23-10 in the west , how much more will he dominate in the east.

Eddy got double teamed and froze up, Z-BO being left handed works the other side of low post with curry.

Nichols is a syracuse guy who's use to playing in the garden, dude would shoot 1000 jumpers a day to develop his shot at the cuse.

With curry and Z-BO down low, this will be a shooters paradise.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

You guys don't have the first clue on how to BUILD a basketball team. It's not about assembling the most talent, it's about assembling the most talent that pieces together. Getting Zach is a upgrade of talent for sure, but it in no way pieces together, which makes this a bad trade.

blueseats - not the same homeboy.

Zach may not be pretty, or satisfy the media-driven thrist for a marqee-type hero to make the girls scream, but how can one trivialize his basketball ability?

Forget the slumped shoulders, his sinister visage, his past and his pin-shaped head. Forget the African body type and forget the folds in his neck dripping greasy sweat on the floor and ask yourself one simple question...

Why kind of matchup situation does Zack Randolph create for opponents at power forward?

Forget the personal bias. Zack Randolph can play

Eddy Curry had a solid season.

Does Curry benefit from having another offensive threat on the floor?

Zach can play center when Eddy gets a blow and run with David Lee at the four. Jared Jeffries can focus on the dirty work of defending the passing lanes and rebounding from the three or four position. Balkman provides energy, speed and spice.

Rookies Randolph Morris and Wilson Chandler can be brought along gradually.

what is the real problem here?
