I don't think GS is going to beat Dallas in a 7 game series. Dallas is far too well coached, and they have all the right elements in their roster. I think they'll win the next 4.

THAT said, the Nellie's got that old school Run TMC flavor going on out there. They hit a lot of contested 3s in the 4th quarter - give 'em credit for making 'em. They have nothing to lose. In fact, by winning 1 game, they're already heroes.

The post-game commentators brought up a great point that I was thinking all along - why the heck did Dallas change their starting lineup? They're the better team, and they shouldn't be adjusting their game plan for the lesser team. Sure, they matched up better speedwise, it negated Dallas's big man game. They have the rare ability to play with multiple 7 footers when Dirk plays PF. Sure, you can have Al Harrington on Dirk, but what, is Matt Barnes going to keep Dampier off the offensive boards... or even stop a soft entry pass? (yeah, they'd play Biedrins, but he negates the running game)...

golden state may not even win another game but they will play dallas tough. they may win another game at home but that would be it.

i don't even want to know what the ramifications would be if golden state won the series. that would be unreal.

When you look at the matchups I think its far to say that the talent level might even been in golden states favor.

Backcourts
Richardon and Davis vs. Harris and Terry-I think this one isn't even close Terry doesn't do anything better than davis and richardson is a far better player than Harris who might be a little better on the defensive end

SF
Barnes, Jackson, Pietrus vs. Howard and George-again although Harris is an Allstar I think this is pretty even

PF
Dirk-this is their only real matchup advantage if you think about it

C
Dampier/Diop vs. Harrington/Biedrins-I don't think i can give dallas the edge here.

Stackhouse vs Ellis-you have to give it to stack on this one from the experience standpoint

Nelson is the better coach as well and they finsished 19-4 down the stretch in GS when everyone was healthy.......so i think its a lot closer than people think

^ WTF? You think SF is even? I also give Dallas the edge at center. Dampier and Diop are a great combo at center, particularly on defense. Check the stats. Also, GS is playing some guys out of position and Biedrins is barely playing, so I think your matchups are a little off.

This thread exposed a few and it wasn't the intention. It was designed to expose ISAYUGH but of course you have ISAYUGH's bodygaurds showing up in threads tripping over themselves trying to defend him.

Some fans think Toronto is nothing special just a lucky team I guess.

Some fans think Orlando has a few decent parts but that's it.

Some fans think GSW's cap is Fuched, with redundant talent and that's it.

Some fans think the Bulls are overrated, Tyrus is crap, their 9th pick is essentially worthless

Some fans feel the bottom half teams don't have much to look towards and will be stuck on the lottery for yrs to come

These same fans like our situation

Having our cap go from $140mil to $90mil

Having a 19pt 7reb non franchise, one dimensional, out of shape center

A losing, aging, shoe salesman, overpaid, point gaurd

A negative dimensional, $30mil trade kicker, Fish lipped, 6'11 softy

An Immature Special player who needs to be in a straight jacket

A Lottery 9th pick near bust

Not being able to use the MLE this summer

Possibly using the pick on a project

An avg of 30wins the past 3yrs

According to you every player on any other team but the Knicks is a scrub. Our roster is 90% scrub and the record the past 3yrs says so.

This scrub was getting crunch time minutes against the best team in the NBA recordwise and was making back breaking plays. If that's a definition of a scrub where can we get one?

I've been impressed with GS. I think they played their game and Nellie is the right coach for that group. They dictated the pace and Dallas was back on their heels. It is however a 7 game series and Dallas may yet adjust and get back on track.

As for GS vs. the Knicks, it's a tough comparison, since they added a few vets for the most part. Guys who have been around and know how to play. That trade was one of the few really good moves that Mullin has made. I think the Knicks when healthy would be a tough out in the playoffs for any team. As GS has shown it's not just about the teams record. The Knicks have a lot of work to do in terms of continuing to build this team. Guys like Frye and Jeffries are certainly capable of picking up their games next year. I certainly don't think we saw the best from either player. Q came in this year and played much better than his 1st yr. The same thing can happen with any player on this team. As FANS, let's hope that this does happen. Balkman, like Matt Barnes may just show a similar level of improvement in his game. These things aren't exclusive to GS.

The odds are against a four game sweep. I'll let you do the math--head to head matchups 4 GS 1 Dallas GS won both games @ home GS is 31-10 @ home this year. I'm pulling for GS and I think there is a 40-60 chance they win this series IF GS plays Biendrins a tad more and he is effective. The one ugly part was how many easy lay ins Dallas had--otherwise they did smother dallas for the other 80% of the game. The regular odds for a 1-8is astronomically low.

Dallas needs to make some adjustments but Golden State can't guard the two man game with Terry and Nowitzki. Put Dampier and Diop in the game for the duration and switch Josh Howard exclusively on BDiddly. GS will start to squirm.

Jefferies ****ing sucks, he is not capable of anything look at his career numbers, he can't shoot, can't dunk around the basket and can't finish with either hand, he is physically weak, where is he going to improve?

And Frye is he suddenly going to have balls, we have the three sofest players at their position perhaps in the entire nba in the frontcourt, and you can add crawford to that as well, just because he will shot anytime anywhere doesn't make him this assassin it just makes him a gunner....

Anji, the point you miss is that it's one game and Mavs fans aren't sitting there complaining about Dirk. If not for Dirk, they're not the best team in the league. Comparing it to the Knicks is retarted. They're good, we're not. As for pushed around... dude, it's one game. I don't really see your point, if there even is one.

I missed the point??? I personally feel Dirk is soft and Knicks fans try to dump on Curry as an comeback?? WTF is the point that!!! LOL, I do feel comparing it to the knicks is retarded, so why the Hell did you guys do it???

Because it's easy and all you damn priscillas are in pee-pants mode, that's my theory. So yes when I comment on Dirk it's in a context to them being a title team and in relationship to other title teams.... Duh.

I was excited about having Barnes when we got him, but at the time he was released he was not doing jack for the team. I'm not exactly certain that all of the fault should lay upon Isiah either. The coach is certainly accountable as well. Hindsight is 20/20.

He was playing a little defense. His scoring may not be what everyone likes

*I* DIDN'T. I responded to you taking offense to Curry being labeled soft. Give me a f'n break. Curry IS soft and you took offense to that. Yet you labeled Dirk as soft and that made sense in your mind, while you don't think Curry is soft. That's insane!!! You realize that right? Maybe your definition of soft is way different. No help for the ridiculous. Duh yourself, who apparently can't tell me apart from other posters.

Who says Knicks fans are generally disillusioned while knowing very little about the rest of the league.

We all know that Juwan Howard, PJ Brown, Rasheed Wallace, and Drew Gooden, are major forces to be reckoned with. Damn Dirk better come with some body armor!

^^^^ What???? SMH........... you are an idiot. And Dirk is so light in the loafers none of those teams will guard him with Power Forwards when Small forwards give him the most trouble. So it's more like Marion, Bowen, Tmac, Price, ect... duh.

And again, Who responed to Curry being labeled soft??? I never took offense to Curry being called soft, I TOOK OFFENSE TO CURRY BEING MENTIONED STUPID!!!! So if Im magic fan, I can call Dirk soft, because no magic fan would say Dwight is soft??? Is that your agruement, you think I answered something I never commented on!!!! HOw insane is that, responding to questions people never asked. LOL, that is the definition of crazy, don't you think??? Duh...

You obviously aren't capable of having a discussion. You still never answered the points directed at you, so I'm done responding to you. Now you deny ever having said anything, whatever. I don't care.

Anji, you are ridiculous. I'm sorry for responding to someone who barely even has a grasp of the English language. Your attempt at insults are embarassing to the alien race.

Btw, go take your SMH and shove it.

This guy has now moved into Nelly's Top 6 rotation and we waived him, I'm still getting a kick out of this. He's moved ahead of MIP Monta Ellis and a playoff proven vet in Al Harrington. This guy is hitting big shots still against the best regular season basketball team during crunch time.
