I think you guys should just cash in your fan cards right now and follow another squad. How can you ever root for a hated rival? Knicks fans are so fair weather its disgusting.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

How can you ever root for a hated rival?

That's not rooting for a hated rival. That's desperately wanting Knicks management to WAKE UP. As for rooting for a hating rival, you ever root for a non-Knicks team in the playoffs (against a team other than the Knicks)? Ultimately, many of us HONESTLY believe it has to get even worse before it gets better. Until we get that massive jolt that wakes up management, we're treading water. I personally hope Greg Oden is that jolt if it happens. I think it has to be. Missing on Greg Oden due to not protecting a draft pick in trade should get any GM fired.

That all said, the odds of the Bulls getting Oden are extremely low. So if the Bulls don't get him, nobody is going to cry either. Nobody is rooting for the Bulls. Rooting for the Bulls to get Oden IS rooting for the Knicks. Just not the group of misfits we have that put on the orange and blue and pretend to be Knicks.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Root for the Bulls I can't even get myself to root for the Bulls vs. Miami and I hate Miami, I hate the Bulls more. I root for the blue and orange and if you are a real fan you would never root for any type of failure for the Knicks. For some reason people want furture failure for the Knicks why would anyone want this unless your are totally sadistic or plain and simple not a fan of the team.

Also like to add, Dolan already had a chance to fire Thomas, and instead went the opposite. Dolan is the REAL problem in this organization. We could have gotten rid of him and maybe had a shot at West.
I'll never trust this' team again.

You may not wish the Bulls any good fortune but apparently Isiah does. The Knicks organization right now you almost have to deal with them the same way you would deal with an alcoholic: they need to hit rock bottom. I mean hit rock bottom with no Larry Brown excuses and no injuries excuses.

You mean we haven't hit rock bottom yet?! That's' depressing!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Other than Bonn, who voted YES?

I voted yes, since by my estimation, Isiah has at least four more years, and Dolan has already proven that performance has nothing to do with it. If we assume that Isiah has four more years, and that it will take six years to fix whatever mess Isiah leaves and completely turn the team around, then we're talking about 10 years into the future. At that point, Greg Oden or Kevin Durant will be on the downside of their careers, so whether the Bulls get him or not is really irrelevant to this organization.

Here's the bad news. The bad thing about the Thomas extension is, he's screwed up so bad, in just a short period of time, what would make anyone think things would turn around in ten years? The bad thing about not' firing Isiah is, he has four more years to do a lot more damage (based on what he's already done). I'll go as far as even saying Layden is starting to look like a better GM at this point.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Just like Curry and Lee improved. Like Balkman and Collins improved during the season, I expect the young players on this team to get better.

This is the only' hope we have left. With Frye dissapearing and the rash of injuries we had, (and money tied up) they are gonna have' to get better. And if they don't? Well' then we are talking ten years at least!
I'll never trust this' team again.

This is after the Knicks practically dominated the '90s.

They did? I must have missed it. I thought the bulls dominated the 90's! Delusional...............

because they're rooting for a likely failure.

I think rooting for failure for your own, to prove a point or not, is taboo. I just slam the men who are responsible for what has happened.
I'll never trust this' team again.

But if Isiah can look like an even bigger idiot then I think that's awesome.

If I made millions and was extended to four more years (whether I F'd the team up or not) I'd be a happy man and wouldn't care if I was an idiot or not!

Apparently for Dolan, it pays to lose, because the dumb ass fans support it and apparently for Isiah, it doesn't matter what anyone says.

We the fans end up being the biggest losers after all is said and done.
I'll never trust this' team again.

to make Isiah look like a complete incompetent.

He wouldn't even care anyway. It's a sticks and stones situation for him.
I'll never trust this' team again.

To say that you are rooting, praying, or cheering for the Bulls to get a top pick is crazy childish. All of this for what, because Zeke traded for a young center? Thats why he deserves humiliation? I dont remember much outrage when the trade was made, and the only reason why this trade is even close is because of the Larry Brown led tank job.

yeah but then you don't get to come back & say "I told you so" on an internet chat forum.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

No it's not. That's a stupid analogy that doesn't fit.

NO way..I'm a Knicks fan before I'm a fan of Isiah or DOlan to be humiliated.
What about phrasing it as a stay the course Knick fan vs. a fan of Isiah or Dolan to be *replaced*? This idea that you're a Knick fan OR you want change smells as bad as Bush's and Rove's famous false choices about either being for the current Iraq policy or being against the troops.

ooh baby this poll hit a nerve.

you know how you pass a wreck on the highway and you go through that devil-angel thing in your mind about looking? that's what the bulls' lottery pick is like. it's the same morbid curiosity that makes people want to see the horror of isiah giving up yet ANOTHER #1 or 2 for the basketball wasteland known as eddy curry.

i would venture that most of us have a love-hate thing wiht the team at this point. LOVE the knicks, rooting for the knicks, wanting them to win, cheering on collins, lee, renaldo and of course THE BIG GAME.

but HATE watching this f'g putrid team that isisah puts out on the floor every night and all the opportunities he squandered and millions upon millions of dollars he spent to put this flotilla of trash in front of our eyes every night. a backcourt of marbury, crawford, francis and nate!?? with jalen collecting bazillions as well? please, i know it's too early, we're gonna lose our breakfasts contemplating it.

and the always-lovely channing frye and jared jeffries up front to complement eddy-baby? mercy!

but no, i don't want to see chicago get the 1 or 2. enough with that f'g team already. and i don't need it to justify knowing it was a terrible trade. that was evident a long time ago. plus, as others have pointed out, it won't affect isiah's/dolan's status.

i'd rather focus on who we get at chicago's pick and wheter morris has any nba game.

but hey, any poll that brings us to the core of the hater-lover debate is good by me.

Yeah, I thought it would hit a nerve. I enjoy those threads, although softer threads are nice too. I agree with you that we don't need the Bulls to win the lottery to realize how bad the Curry deal was but I think it would clue some fans in. And I do think Dolan and Isiah would change course if fans stopped spending money. But I don't expect that to happen. In a city the size of NYC, there are enough misterearls and nixluvas to fill Dolan's bank account.

Better to root for the bulls to get the top pick rather than teams in our own division.
Like Boston and Philly.

I'm wondering where the line is drawn. You're admitting you have an agenda here that would be strengthened if the Bulls win the lotto.

So it stands to reason that the TRADE should be judged on assets given up. Would you have said its a bad deal if last year we picked 9th instead of 2nd? Last year all the very good picks were gone by 9.
