I know its a little early for this but fuk it im excited!!! Most people will prolly say they would rather face Cleveland. But I'm not so sure, we have shown we can beat detroit on a number of occasions. (even tho Jamal has been a Piston killer and we will miss him in the playoffs) and Cleveland is playing well............... tough call, but we are only 1/2 game behind Indiana who will prob loose to minnesota tomorrow and surrender the 7th spot.
Knicks vs. Detroit. Bring em on
Knicks vs. Cleveland. Bring Lebron

Solace,

I said we could sweep them. Which is not the same as saying we will. But if you wanna wager something appropriate, lets do it. How about, if the Knicks don't sweep, I owe you a custom-made fire-Isiah t-shirt?

Ok, talking about possibilities, it's possible, but when you say it in such a way, you make it sound likely. Tell me, honestly, what do you think the *likely* outcome of the series is? Do the Cavs sweep us, do the Cavs beat us easily, do we take the Cavs to seven, do we beat the Cavs or do we sweep the Cavs? Which is the most likely?

I like to take the temperature of both teams. In 99, that second round, i didn't even wait to say we were going to sweep the Hawks. We had just crushed our biggest post-Jordan foes as an 8 seed and had all the momentum to take a weak (yet highly seeded) Hawk team.

If you ask me today... (and if i can assume Lee and Craw, or at least Lee can play) i say the Knicks win and do it with shocking ease. 6 games most likely.

The Hawks were a fourth seed and we had just pulled off an amazing upset of the #1 seed in the entire east. In addition, we had a good team that was still jelling in a strike shortened season. I think most know and believe that we would've been higher than an eighth seed had it not been for the strike shortened season. Furthermore, is there any doubt that the '99 Knicks are way better than the '07 Knicks? In addition, is there any doubt that the '07 Cavs are considerably better than the '99 Hawks? I don't see the similarities.

also people need to stop forgetting the amount of games that seperated 1st to the 8th seed in 99.. If I can recall it was only 4 to 5 games. It only seem like a lot because of the seeding, but that year the playoff seeding was only a game or 2 differnce.

You can't have it both ways. I hear a million times a day how the EAST sucks. Cleveland is supposedly a 2 seed in today's East. Which is like saying what then? They're fearesome all of a sudden because of their success in todays day and age?

Would the Cavs have sniff playoffs in 99?

Oh please, cut the crap. Your logic is nauseating. They not only would've made the playoffs, they would've been a top 4 seed in the '99 playoffs. Geez, f'cking ridiculous. Just because the east is poor doesn't mean that Cleveland isn't a good team.

Its the same logic others use to bash the Knicks. "The East is weak." This is the logic we hear everyday from the critics when they want to downplay the progress. Then if the east is weak, the Cavs record is suspect too.

by the way, i'll respect the Cavs and put them in the same category as Miami and the Pistons when they have a .500 record on the road. They're 14-17 and that means they're pretenders.

Who said the same category as the Pistons and Heat? They're a notch below. That's why we'd prefer to face them. I'm just urging not sounding ridiculous.

You're seriously stretching. I assume you don't even believe what you're claiming, so is this just flamebait?

When people say the East is weak, they aren't generally referring to the top 3 or 4 teams within the East. The conference in general isn't like what it used to be, but as a whole it obviously can't be weak. It's the West 4,5,6 seeds that are different from the East's. The West's 7th and 8th are pretty similar to the playoff picture in the East.

Neither of the two statements to follow can be negated.

1. Cleveland's record is a product of playing games against teams.
2. Cleveland plays more games against teams in the East.

So... if people generally assume that there are more weak teams in the East, then it can only follow that Cleveland's record AND #2 rank must be viewed with suspicion since its a product of where they play and who they play against.
