For all of you who think Steph didn't choke...

Can you please define what the word "choke" means to you ? I think that wil further clarify things a bit...

We know he choked at the end of the game, but it still hurts because he played his but off to get us back in the game. We don't need to be constantly reminded that he choked. Because they clearly would have been blown out if it wasnt for him.

So I was right to say that he choked. I'm also right about everything else I said.

Get over it.

I understand what you mean. I totally agree with you! it's not hatin, it's wanting the best for our team and it will never get there with current mgmt .

This team will continue to suck or dissappoint us until the culture of the organization goes into a complete reversal. new mgmt, new ownership, new people!

The Future. GO KNICKS!

Woodman - if you can provide a good reason why a billionaire would sell-off away a high-profile, profit-center then yes, I'm right with you in my campaign for Bill Bradley and Spike Lee to purchase the Knicks.

The corporate culture of the New York basketball franchise is a fact of life for 30-plus years.

There is no complete reversal

No new management

No new ownership until Dolan gets bored and I don't think Junior is bored

Probelm is not having a billioniare not willing to sell off his empire.

it's the fact that the billionaire owner knows nothing about sports franchises or how to run one successfully.

that's why teams like the knicks and rangers will never win a championship under Dolan.

isiah was a horrible g.m from the past.. You can see no one else hired him but Dolan. why, cause of the name, not the reputation.

Woodman - okay, so the Knicks will never win a championship under Dolan.

Looks the Mets are on the verge with Omar Minaya and Fred Wilpon

yankees baby!! all the way!

hey you can still have that corporate mentality on a sports franchise and win! Dolan is a plain
a--hole. why do you think no one would want the pres/gm job of the knicks? cause they would not want to work for someone like dolan.

they don't want the headache or associate themselves with a born loser.

at least steinbrenner got rings!

>>they don't want the headache or associate themselves with a born loser.

So, Wood... hold up... just because Steinbrenner has won that makes him less of a jerk?

WOODMan - so whatchoo sayin' is if Dolan offered you, say... $2M a year to be an advance scout for the Knicks, you would turn it down?

Really?

Thanks for proving our point misterearl. The only people who would take a job from Dolan is someone who wants the money and doesn't have the option of getting a similar paying job from someone else.

The question should be: if Dolan offered you a $2M a year basketball job but another team that doesn't have a history of pettiness and paranoia and whose owner isn't a complete psychopath offered you a similar job, whose job would you take?

The Knicks won't be able to get the most qualified executives and coaches but will be able to get the guys who want the money and don't have other options. You think the Knicks could have gotten Colangelo?

Steinbrenner might still be a jerk but he's a proven winner.

Dolan is a psychopath and a loser of epic proportions.

Big difference.

One of the most entertaining games in at least a week.

Great choke by Starbury. Nice to see they're still heavily relying on a player that will be on the downside of his career when the young guys finally "get it" in 3-4 years.

Where was Curry? The Franchise was nonexistent again. Couldn't even carry the load against Nick Collison.

Frye is a gutless puke passing up open shots all night because he has no balls. Great lottery pick Isiah.

Playoffs? Who cares, it matters like the 2003 playoffs mattered.

Isles may have a way with words, but his overall point is well taken: That the Knicks are perhaps the most mismanaged franchise in sports, and their fans deserve so much more than they get, when you consider the prices they pay for either tickets or cable TV. These are basically facts.

Now, many fans may not wish to accept this, and may be able to look past this, and may not want to hear all the negativity. But if you just take the fact that we have the highest payroll in the league by far and consider our record and the excuses our coach constantly makes, it's all you need to know to realize what a joke this franchise has become.

And I think another main point Isles makes is that too many fans have lowered their expectations, to the point where a loss at home to a horrible team like the Sonics is is seen as something other than a lousy home defeat.

The reality is, we are six games under .500, and just 17-14 at home (after a seven-game home winning streak), and that is pretty bad. I don't care how much worse we were last season. Isiah has had plenty of time to fix things, and while he has done some good things, he has done more bad things, and therefore has failed to improve our record since he's been here.

Of course, as Isles points out, the more underlying problem is Dolan, but I don't feel like getting into that now.

Hey Isles fan, did you catch the Rangers game the other night? 3-5-07 :)

You mean the game where the Rangers had 56 shots on goal and still barely won? The Isles did get a point out of it.

You catch the first 4 games between the teams this year?

I hope you catch tomorrow's game.

Hey Isles fan, did you catch the Rangers game the other night? 3-9-07 :)

ErnieCat - the payroll?

C'mon, the payroll is an inherited fact of life in New York. Could it be less? Certainly. In 2008, Allan Houston and Shandon Anderson come off the books. That should help.

You mention "the excuses the coach consistently makes"?

Last quoted, Thomas expected the team to make a strong push to the playoffs. Despite injuries to FOUR players. Does that really sound like an excuse-making to you?

allan houston, shandon A, Mo taylor, Jalen Rose and Jerome Williams all come off the books this summer, not 2008. Thats about 55mm off the books.

Doesn't matter anyway, we're doomed with Mr. Dolan...

So you do not consider it a problem that we have by far the highest payroll, in a league with a salary cap -- yet are one of the weakest teams in the league?

The Yankees have by far the highest payroll in baseball, in a league without a cap, but get value for their money. They continually provide their fans with a quality product and make the postseason (which is a lot tougher to do in baseball than in the NBA).

So while baseball fans who are not Yankee fans shake their heads and cry over the fact that the Yankees are permitted to field a quality team largely because of their deep pockets, basketball fans -- Knick fans and otherwise -- just laugh at the fact that the Knicks spend all that cash and get nothing in return.

It's the difference between excellent management and horrendous management, and that is the point.

That should help??? Help what exactly? I thought an out of control salary cap wasn't even worth talking about. You know, "it ain't your money".

So you're either a hypocrite or you're full of crap. Take your pick.

Not really ... I used to hang out with David Berkowitz, and he never backed his stuff up, never kept things interesting and had a very dull wit. I suppose that's why I stopped hanging out with him.

Islesfan - I thought you eloquently stated how you were through following the Knicks.

and I'm the hypocrite?

But it's not personal. It's strictly business.
