He's in the dog house for not being very good period. He is being shopped and hasn't missed a game this season. The guy is not a top notch anything.

You better check your facts, he's missed 10 games.

Add that to the 46 he missed last year and you see why the Cavs have him in the doghouse. This has nothign to do with in-game performance because when you read the Cavs board, most like his game but wish he'd stay on the court more.

I probably wouldn't do Craw for Hughes because of the injuries and contract. If Hughes was healthy and was financially comprable to Craw, of course I would do it.

Crawford would make the Cavs worse, just as he makes us worse. Cleveland's defense easily takes a big step backward with Craw in the line up, and offensively he can only get it done about 40% of the time.

As for him being a "scorer". I'd buy that Anji if he was the tad bit consistent.

YOu mean if he shoot as well as Hughes???? LOL

And Hughes missed ten games this season, none of those had to do with his pasted injury and the Cavs are lokking to part ways with him. Why would I need to check a message board when the GM is openly saying he is not working out????

If Crawford played defense like Hughes I wouldn't care about the shooting percentage. Thus, why I would make the trade. Remember, this thread is all about D. Offense is all over our roster. Defense is not.

What are you talking about his past injury, that makes it even worse that these are new injuries that are cropping up with him. Just ownup to the fact that you didn't know what you were talking about when you said he's missed no games and that his on the court performance is the reason for his trade rumours.

The Cavs didn't sign him to that huge deal 2 summers ago because he sucks. He hasn't worked out because he's been injured.

I didn't know he missed 10 games, I thought he played in all his cavs games this season because I never read him being hurt and he hasn't missed any of the games that I saw cavs. And????
He is not on the block for not missing a couple games because of a sprain here and there. THE guy is under producing so bad that I would say Gibson is now in front him on the coaches go to list. Last years wrist injury has had a summer to heal, he is going to be traded because inspite of him being invisble the team still wins.

They win because they get some defense at important positions. Underproducing on offense is an overrated problem. I'll take an underproducer that can D it up over what we got starting at the 2.

It's no surprise that Crawford has never been on a team with a winning record.

Crawford hasn't been on a team where you couldn't agrue he was the best or second best player on his team , best player in the backcourt either. Is that your point??? BEcause I agree with you, Crawford should not be the best player on your team. Opposing teams should not have a number 1 next to, "Do not let Crawford beat us" when the coach is talking to his Perimiter players.

If I were coach my game plan would be "isolate against Crawford"

Two seasons ago, Larry Hughes was voted to be first team on the nba all-defensive team. http://www.nba.com/history/awards_defensiveteams.html

The only real hole that was in Larry's game was that he didn't shoot 3's well-and didn't take too many of them. There have been 3 years in his career where he has averaged 1.o 3's per game or over (and that is counting this year).

The difference between Hughes and Crawford is Hughes is not the volume shooter that Jamal is and is much more consistent-although he will never have the HUGE games like Jamal can be capable of on the moments he is on (and is only 1 year older).

To me, it seems Hughes is a a pure 2 guard(remember the disaster it was when Golden state tried him at the PG spot?) while Crawford is a PG who can play the 2 guard in spurts(because playing PG curbs his chucking tendencies).

The trade off for the consistency with Hughes is he has been getting hurt alot the past 3 years or so, while Jamal never misses a game.

When Hughes is healthy, he's a COMPLETE player. He does many things very well. He's way ahead of Crawford.

If you said you wanted to make a team that had to inculde Curry, Lee and Marbs, what would you ask for as complimentary players? You'd probably ask for strong defensive players, one would have to be able to stroke the 3's and you'd want them to be versatile and athletic. They'd prbably look a lot like Q and Jeff. Unfortunately that's not working great for some reason. Working OK, but not great.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Larry Hughes
6-5 SG from St. Louis
14.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 35.8 minutes
Scot Pollard
6-11 C from Kansas
0.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.1 apg in 3.9 minutes
Incoming
Malik Rose
6-7 PF from Drexel
2.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 9.1 minutes
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.5 minutes

I would do that deal if it was offered in a heartbeat.

Crawfords defense sucks. How much more debate is needed on that subject? Craw will never shut down anyone. How many people in this league actually do that anymore anyway? Who are the stand out defenders in the league at the 2? After you do that tell me how well have they done against Craw? I have yet so see anyone be able to keep Craw in front of them.

thank you... the only guy that can stop Craw is Craw... when he plays within himself & takes the ball to the hoop, there isn't a G in the NBA that can stop him... we all saw how well he played against Kobe last week... all these people who keep moaning about the lack of defense in Curry & Craw's game, & yet completely discount their contributions on the offensive side kill me... it's like 20 & 8 type games from both of them are meaningless these days, yet you see weak defending guys on other teams put up those types of #'s & these same people are gushing over them til the cows come home.
