I wonder what you guys would say if Isiah proclaimed the Knicks are good or very good?

It would be the same story: Me am hate Isiah!!

Why not just say that and be done with it instead of all the pointless contradictory nonsense?

oohah

We am hate Isiah.

Side notes:
1) Who talks like that? Neanderthals?
2) Is it not okay to dislike Isiah? If he says the team is great, he's lying. If he says the team isn't great, it's a rare admission from a man who never admits anything. Is it unreasonable for people to jump all over those things?

In this case, I do think it was a stretch, but generally I can understand it. Isiah has said a lot of revealing and ridiculous things this year that are getting noticed, and some people are seeing him for what he is... a used car salesman.

There's really not much to like. Fans want a GM/coach who is on the same page on them, not in a completely different novel.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

“If this becomes a rivalry, that’s good, because that means that we’ve gotten to the point where we’re looked at as a pretty good team,” Thomas said. “New Jersey is a pretty good team. But you can really only have a rivalry when you have two pretty good teams.”

He didn't choose his words wisely here that's for sure.

Either you don't understand the plain meaning of those words or you are being deliberately obtuse in order to engage in yet another distortion of reality because you can't hide your utter loathing for Isiah.

In this context "pretty good" means very good, not "aren't good."

Either way, you keep revealing more about yourself than you probably intended.

Exactly Oohah.

If he says the knicks are good and up there with the Nets, he would get laughed at because of the current record, though 500. is still obtainable. And the fact that the Nets have beat us 20 out of 24. He will get bashed for trying to sell the fans dreams.

If he doesn't rip his players after losses then he gets bashed for being to soft on him.

If he critisizes his players. Then we get post like why is Isiah bashing his players through the media since Larry Brown wasn't able to.

Thats why guys get labled haters. Its not the crictism it is the excessive contradiction that your hate keeps you blind to.

You don't see the supposed homers coming up with thread after thread taking Isiahs words and spinning it to how great he is as a gm do you.

I don't get the title to this thread. The first sentence on the quote states that his team is viewed as a pretty good team. Then he said that you need 2 pretty good teams to have a rivalry. So he is in fact saying that his team is pretty good becasue they are now worthy to have a rivalry.

I saw this thread for some time now and didn't know how to respond...You just summed it up my thoughts succinctly...

If that's how you translate it. But the other article I cited in this thread proved at least by words what Zeke was saying to the press. If he has a different speech behind doors, I guess that's cool if it's true. In the other article he made statements such as

"We have a ways to go"

"I hope we play well"

"We're not at championship-level yet. They've got some guys who've played in championship games, they know how to get up for big games and everything else. They know how to make a statement and we're not in the statement business yet."

"They probably don't view us like we view them because they're the champs. We have to catch them. Our job is to one day be where they are and take what they have."

"They're playing at a very high level. They know how to do it. They know when to turn it on and our job is to one day be as good as they've been."

Yep all these statements are exactly what a fan would expect their coach to say if his team is actually a "Pretty Good" team.

Keep drinking the Fool-Aid though!

Trueblue... fair is fair. My point must stand if I accept yours.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
