i'm going on frye + lee + filler/picks for him. not curry. you don't trade curry for him. you trade for KG to play WITH curry. they can have everybody else.

So you wouldn't even think about it?Trading for KG?

DJ, do you really think that Minnesota would go for that? Lee+Frye+filler/picks? You're right, as a Knicks fan, I would pull the trigger on that--if I am the GM of Minnesota I wouldn't.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

no. we were out of the running without jalen + mo. if we had jalen and mo, they would do it b/c we would also take back 1 or 2 more bad contracts like jaric and hudson.

I don't think KG has enough left to drag this Knicks team to the Finals.

Losing Lee compromises what's right about this team too much. Best bet for the Knicks is to try to get a good PG or SG in the next few years who really compliments Curry and keep Lee, Balkman, Jefferies, QRich.

The wildcard in what the Knicks are able to do is whether Frye develops here or can be used to get a very good SG or PG. I wouldn't trade Frye lightly, but I would trade him for a big SG who could defend and hit the outside shot.

If JO has a bad back, we might be able to get him without including Lee. When it came out that Q had a bad back, we got a first round pick (Nate) thrown in.

you obviously not watching any Wolves games.

KG on this Knicks automatically makes them the favorites in the East.

I think KG would go to Chicago, Miami or Detroit before he comes here. I highly doubt he'll go West (McHale's not THAT stupid). At this point, with all the first round exits and being a healthy Cassell from meeting Detroit in the finals, I think he wants a chip.

KG or JO should just go join up w/Kobe out in LA & win themselves a championship... i think LA has the players to trade for either one of them too in Odom, Bynum & some other pieces & draft picks.

Well, there is almost no chance we get Garnett. JO is a step or two below Garnett's level, so if he asks for a trade we still might have enough assets to make a competetive offer.

Either way though, the "we'd be favorites in the East" argument is pretty specious to me. I agree that we would be among the top in the East, but without further substantial improvements we'd still have no shot at beating the Spurs, Mavs, or Suns in a 7 game series. Basically, we'd be 2nd round material in the West at best, and would only be potential finalists by virtue of being in the East. I'm kind of surprised at the reasoning here given how vocal people have been about not walking down that kind of path.

i wouldn't do it. but you HAVE to do it from the garden's perspective.

my personal preference? waive 1/2 the team. trade some longer deals for shorter ones, purchase draft picks and target the summer of 2009 to be over $20 mil under the cap.

I think they'll get rid of Kwame before Bynum. They got too much invested in the big kid right now to quit on him.

Kwame Brown won't be any sort of attractive addition to a package to get either JO or KG... it'll have to be Bynum, Odom & some other young talented player or a package of picks at the very least.
