Almost everything this team is going through now. Should have been went through last season.

I still contend that while Brown was interested in giving our veterans a chance at the leadership roles it was Isiah who had the most to gain in justifying their existence on our massively bloated (by veterans) payroll.

Of course you do. Because it deflects the blame on Larry Brown, and puts it all on Isiah. But I doubt Isiah agreed with Larry Brown using 40 different starting lineups. Larry Brown did what he wanted to do last season. He didn't do anything he didn't want to do. He didn't listen when Isiah and Dolan told him to stop belittling his team in the media. But yet when it comes to Isiah saying who Larry Brown should play Brown all of a sudden listens to him. Especially in an area that directly will effect his coaching ability. I don't buy it. Plus the fact that Larry Brown is well known to favor veterans over young players. What about Steve Francis, he barley played Francis though Isiah gave up Ariza and Dolan had to eat his contract. If Isiah had control over how many mins the players got then he would have made Brown play Francis a lot more than he did. He only traded for Francis since Brown sold him he could turn Marbury-Francis into Thomas-Dumars. Brown also started a lineup of Curry, AD, M.Rose, Q, Marbury. And only played Lee 16-17mins. I doudt Isiah was in favor of that. He only added M.Rose for draft picks anyway so he can get Lee. Not for M.Rose to be a main part of the starting lineup. And I doubt he cared for Mo Taylors playing time especailly if his prized rookies Frye & Lee were the ones beating him out. Jalen Rose for the most part was added to get us another draft pick and to try and pick up the slack with Marbury injuried. He was probably going to get cut reguardless unless he really had a great season last yr.

dammit, I just broke this thing down, line by line, oohah style, and trashed it just before sending it. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be....

That happends to me a lot to. Thats **** sucks. I wouldn't have got into heavy debate with you anyway. So we can agree to disagree.

13-20

If they win Tuesday I just may be convinced that this team is bar none better than last yr's team.

With our home record better than away, is it still fair to blame the fans?

I didn't see the whole game today, but I did see enough to hear Kenny Smith saying something to the effect:

"Isiah doesn't have a single guy he can point to and say 'this is how you bring it, watch watch how he comes to play.' He needs guys who want to play."

I'm sorry, but that's an echo of Brown's laments from the bowels of desperation last year.

And we're only 1 loss off last years pace! That's unthinkable.

Something is wrong, something is seriously wrong with this team.

Actually Blue if you had the chance to watch the whole game, with audio of course... Kenny made damning statements all game. I'll rephrase them for you if you wouldn't mind

"Who is the guy responsible for giving Kaman a full ride scholarship knowing this guy had NBA type of talent and no one else did. We need that guy in this organization."

Hey Kenny hasn't Zeke done a good job assembling talent or at least having an eye for it?

Breen was giving the Knicks credit for at least trying to play some defense today and Kenny Smith shoots him down and says "they deserve no credit"?

Hey isn't that from LB's school or too harsh criticism on the team publicly?

Breen says to Kenny where's the overall effort to get the yr started off on a good foot. Kenny says "That's why I thought the Knicks would come here and blowout the Clippers because holiday games tend to swing in one direction. They are playing like they have things on their mind other than basketball."

So does that mean 35gms into the season Zeke hasn't reached his players?

That's interesting. I would have thought guys like Q and Malik would be there to do that....

Q, yes, when healthy. But Malik? You're not going far if your pacesetter is your 13th man.

Not saying I disagree, but Kenny Smith said there was noone here to point to. Maybe I am taking it a little too literal and he meant that you don't have a leader or a great player you can point to.

Either way I have to wonder how much Kenny really knows about this team, doing broadcasts every 3 weeks or so for a game or two.

Forget what he said, do you get what he means? We need leadership, hunger, passion, purpose, motivation.

Remember in preseason how expectations were so high with the new coach and players with so much to prove? And that goes for at least two consecutive offseasons, if not more. Why doesn't it manifest in reality?

Like I said, I may have aken it to literally or he was too vague or Malik and Q are totally different than the fans think...but either way....

You are 100% correct abou what this team needs. That hunger, passion, etc., etc. I would give my left testicle(yes, I have two kids-I don't need it anymore) for a leader like Ewing or LJ was on this team.

Problem is how to get one. We would have to trade for one-and teams aren't usually willing to give guys like that up cheap, if at all or we would have to draft it and wait 2 or 3 years before the kid is comfortable enough in his own skin to be the leader we need.

This team still hasn't recovered from the trauma that is Larry Brown. Once they recover, and so long as the fans don't boo, the sky is the limit.

If they not recovered yet - send them to the hospital.
But seriously I think it is not a trauma but birth defect...

Kenny smith doesnt know anything about the knicks, all he wants to do is tell his stupid ass stories for the entire broadcast. Putting him and Mike Breen together is like pissing on a turd
