jeffries = chemistry
crawford = kills chemistry

then using the 3rd law of gravity, does that mean crawford kills jeffries?

The funny thing about Crawford's supposed regression is that he is playing as well or better than last year over the same period of time.

oohah

I disagree. His game last year and this year are totally different. If you want to talk statistically, than maybe, but these are 2 different players.
He's the same as he was last year with the exception of the final few weeks.

Bonn, do you read any posts or do even a little research before posting? Also, how many games have you watched over the past 2 seasons?

Craw was a chucker 2 years ago and is a chucker this year. Last year he started a chucker but rounded into a mid-range player.

WTF is up the the reference to the last week of last year?
I said final weeks of last season because those weeks were the only time in his career he wasn't a chucker.

Crawford wasn't a chucker at all last season. From beginning to end. His problem last season was his ability to run an offense. It's just not his game though. He plays best when he's working in the mid range area and taking it to the hoop and he was doing that a lot last season. But to say he was a chucker last season is something that makes one say "Hey, you weren't watching the games last season."

For most of the season he shot around 40% with many off balance shots and about as many free throws as 3s. For anyone else that would qualify as a dumb chucker. I think some people lowered their standards for him and then he met those lower standards last year and people got overly excited. Jamal's got gifted ball-handling, very good quickness, and a good jumpshot (when he puts up smart shots). If he ever stopped being a chucker and started making good decisions, he'd be at a minimum of 45% FG, 6 or 7 FTAs/game, and 19 PPG. That's a minimum. Not whatever underachieving he had for most of last season.

This month he's been a chucker more so than last year. I'd concede that. But in this November he looked the same as he did last November.

How do you define chucker anyway? To me, it's someone who puts up a lot of low percentage shots and misses many of them. I'd put AI and Baron Davis in that group too; they're just better at chucking than Jamal.

A chucker is someone who jacks up way too many 3s, whether it's low percentage or not. It depends on what your definition of low percentage is. Crawford can hit a mid range J with someone covering him consistently, so to me, that's not a chuck. Last season was the first season he DID NOT shoot more 3s than free throws. That was the first time that happened and it was worth praise. It was called progress and credit has to go to, how dare I say, Larry Brown.

This season, he's chucking away way too many off balanced 3s again. We can both agree he's a chucker this season. But I still think he's had a better season than any of our other guards.

25 pts. 9 assists 6 rebounds + game winning alley oop pass to D Lee to win the game.

sure wasn't a chemistry killer last night.

He had a real good game, but down the stretch, he made some bad decisions. I really wish he'd start moving in closer for those game winning shots. I don't think he realizes just how good his mid range J is. That pass to Lee at the end was exceptional, however.

i thought when he took the 3 in regulation to try & win it he had a good look, it just didn't go in... i think he tried to drive the ball to the hoop twice late in both OT sessions but the lane got clogged up by Okafor, Wallace & Brezec... the other 3 pointer from 30 feet out that he launched up w/2 seconds left in the shotclock was completely Marbury's fault for winding down the clock too long.

I liked Jamal Crawford a lot when he came to NY. I thought he had a lot of promise if he improved his shooting and he actually has. But this guy is going to lose us a lot of game if he keeps putting up those dumb off balance jumpers! He shoots way too much for someone with a bad FG%. There is hope here though. Jamal has proven he can play disciplined ball last year. If Isiah instructs him to not shoot bad shots, we will be in much better shape during games. If he does not have a good look at the basket, he should try and find an open man. Last night was a killer watching him shoot those dumb off balance jumpers at the end of regulation and OT. Come on Isiah, get Jamal to play under control!

i keep saying it over & over again... when he's asked to orchestrate he is a MUCH better player... when he's asked to spot up & shoot, he takes on the assassin's mentality & goes overboard launching up shots left & right... that's why i like him starting as the PG rather than playing the 2.

last six games

5-17 2ft
3-10 3ft
9-19 8ft
1-9 0ft
6-26 4ft
9-19 3ft

33-100 33% that is a killer 13 to's

9-40 from three 20fts
Its disgraceful to shoot double the amount of threes to free throws, Isiah needs to do some coaching and get him under control, because when he goes to the line he is a good player

He had more FTs than 3s in November, but he's become an awful chucker this month. I think his FG% for this month is in the upper 20s.

Did anyone see his inteview after the game? He said he was perfectly happy with the shots that he got off before the buzzer. He said maybe a little far but still perfectly good shots for him. They just didn't fall. THIS IS WHY HE NEEDS TO GO. I have aneurysms whenever he gets the ball with the shotclock off. We run an isolation and hope that his crappy shot selection and uncanny ability to nail off-balance jumpers will catch the other team off guard. It doesn't work.

LOL. Did anyone catch Glimph after Craws first chuck at the end of regulation? Screamed at him, probably asking why he settled for the 3 instead of going to the basket.

i saw that... Jamal probably broke off the play that was drawn up because he felt he had a good look, & he did imo...i don't blame the coach for being upset w/him tho if he did that.

as for his post game comments, i wouldn't have expected him to blame Marbury for getting him the ball too late in the shotclock either... good teammates don't hang their teammates out to dry... they take responsibility for their actions & stand up to the criticism.

I think Jamal Crawford is the perfect Knick.

Talented.

Can make you love him one minute and want to tear out your hair the next.

If he could just tweak his game and play a little bit smarter....
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

in his younger days, John Starks made me want to pull my hair out alot of times too for some of his boneheaded shenanigans, but then he always made up for it w/some big play on defense or a big made shot in another game... over the years i grew to absolutely love the guy for all the heart he showed on the court & his outspoken love for the Knicks' franchise.

Jamal is 1 of those guys who fits under that description too... not saying he's the Knick that Starks was, but i think he's got the potential to be 1 of those guys that you grow to really love once he gets his head screwed on straight... i have a fondness for him because you can see he's such a great kid & he really wants to step up & be the guy in a big spot... i'd much rather have a guy like him on my team who isn't afraid when the pressure's on than guys who shy away from taking those shots so they won't have to deal w/being accountable if they miss.

By the way Jcraw shot 9-23. Marbury shot 2-12. Seems to me the Jcraw bashing should not be first in line
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg
