Do you really think Carmelo wanted to fight? I think he just want to sucker punch and run.
Is that not a form of fighting?
No defense for anyone involved, they all acted extremly immature and all deserve penalties.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

It's funny I visit two other KNicks sites and this is the most anal by far....... Crzy you have gone completely Church Lady strict after this fight. I'm not defending anything that happened because it's not really about last nites fight, but the whole season and last season in a line of things that have gone wrong. But the fight as one event, was not as bad as some of you guys keep trying to make it.

at 1:34 left in the game, camby gets fouled and goes to the line.
isiah is standing on the sideline with his arms crossed. he mouths "that's the risk"
camby then takes the first free throw.
the camera goes back to isiah. and he mouths "hey...don't go to the basket right now...it wouldn't be a good idea...i'm just letting you know" and he's smiling. then when the camera pans out, only melo is looking over to isiah so that's who i'm assuming he's talking to.
then after the knicks miss, on the next play is the mardy foul.
dj, I played it backwards and he clearly says "paul is dead."

this hasn't been brought up but after mardy was subbed in, karl emptied his bench and was about to sub 3 guys in. they were running up to the scorer's table when the nuggets got the ball to jr smith. the next dead ball, melo, camby and one other player were going to be subbed out.

The whole thing with IT issuing the warning is unreal. I don't mind him sending guys in to send a message as long as he did not tell them to go out and hurt somebody, which Mardy did not do. I think the team needs to take on more of a bad boy attitude. But I have no understanding of why in the world IT would tell Anthony or anyone else "don't go into the paint." That just seems illogical to me. Anthony and those guys should know not to run up the score and if they don't, let them get the message the hard way. Telling them before hand seems idiotic and is not going to accomplish anything other than get IT suspended. And why in the world was IT talking to Anthony afterwards. That was even more strange.

At about 6:00 tonight one of the local news shows ran a clip of before the fight showing Isiah talking from the sidelines mometns before the fight... there's no audio, but you can CLEARLY see him saying with that dumb*** smile, "don't go in the paint. Better stay out the paint". There's no doubt about what he's saying.
I didn't pick up what channel it was (my wife was running the clicker), but they said they'd have Isola on during their midnight sports recap show tonight
Sheridan last night on ESPN NEWS said that Isiah gave 'Melo this warning too.
So there it is. You gotta see this tape. It's proof that Isiah sends Collins in to be his thug. Here's Collins, a rookie. Of course he's gonna do what his coach tells him to do ...

Why did Isiah pick the rookie Mardy Collins, because Collins understands that kind of thinking(thuggish). He came from temple univ where coach chaney was known to send out a bench player and cause havoc and send a message on the court.
Remember the incident with Calapari where he was gonna fight him at a press conference?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I just saw the tape. This is bad. Bad for Isiah, bad for the team, bad for the fans. Isiah is going to be looking at a hefty fine and I would guess a very hefty suspension because this whole ordeal can be traced back to him now, regardless of how the players reacted(or overreacted).

I just don't understand. Maybe its a different mentality. What is the big deal. Isiah was trash-talking off the bench. So what?
Collins' foul was a hard and blatant foul. Good. But it wasn't dangerous. He didn't let Smith get off the ground before he hauled him around, and caught him as he fell. Perfect hard foul. What KMart did to TT in the playoffs was much worse. He undercut him at the height of his leap, and then let him fall to the ground. That should have led to a brawl. This one should not have.
I watched the whole thing live and then many times after. The main fault lies with Smith, for jumping up and going at Collins. That let to Nate trying to pull him off his teammate. There was no reason in the world for Melo to do what he did, first shoving Frye to the floor, and then decking Collins. After that, Melo deserved whatever he got. Of course he ran like a little girlie, so he didn't get much. I only saw fault in Smith, Melo and maybe Nate. In Nates defense, while Melo was emulating the French Army he ran past Nate, and Nate showed remarkable restraint (for Nate)to not tackle him then and there.
I got no problems with any coach ordering a hard foul, or jawing from the bench either. You don't like it, foul back. But do it in the context of the game, not in a brawl.
The Knicks come out of this with far more credit then the Nuggets.
