Isiah Tanking the Season on Purpose?

Maybe he wants to get fired. I mean he got two technicals in a critical moment of a game. His rotations are weird. He won't give major minutes into "future all-stars" (as quoted on this board) like David Lee, unless he has to, due to injuries. He doesn't call enough plays from the bench, to keep his immature players heads in the game. He plays overpaid players, despite that they may not be the best options. He never says anything of substance to the media, and never admits fault. He complains to the media about his players not trying hard enough. He has a terrible record, even though he was supposed to be the "perfect coach" for this team. Maybe he's doing it just for the money? Is he tanking the season on purpose?
Yes (Worst coach ever; maybe even worse than Larry Brown)
No (I love Isiah, and he'll turn it around)
Undecided (I have no opinion, because I'm now a Lakers fan)

I'm not going to get into the reasons the Knicks are where they are right now...I think oohah has done a masterful job of that with regards to H2O going down and other things that has brought this franchise beyond Isiah's control...The dream of teaming him with Marbs etc...

If that was a recent post I'd like to be directed to it.

From the little but that you mention, like the idea of building around a 32 year old with cartilage problems coming off the speculative micro-fracture surgery that has done little for the likes of Webber and Penny, doesn't sound very promising from the get-go.

You are telling me you haven't read oohah many post about salary cap...H2o knees ..etc???

I'm telling you I'd like to see what you consider a masterful job of explaining our situation, presumably from an apologists position.

Not that oohah is an apologist, but I hear a lot of pessimists adroitly explain our situation, but you never call their explanations masterful.

Their 92-146 record under Isiah isn't part that?

Blue, if you are a Knick fan thinking that we should rebuild from scratch build with youth through the draft...Forget about Isiah the GM and Coach for a moment...Tell me whats not to like about what we are seeing now with this young team???

I can't beleive that people are okay with the fact that we are a coutrywide laughingstock. What slack has he earned is the question of the day.

Thats what happens when you like someone more than you like your favorite time. It's sad really. If there were only more who thought like Bip....

You can't be serious! I might defend Isiah at times when I feel he doesn't get credit when he deserves it. But to say people root for Isiah over the team is absurd.

Its funny, though. I remember when some posters were accussing you and the rest of the Brown lovers of liking him more then you liked the team. You and the rest of the Mob took offense to this.

No, if you take away LB and Lenny's contributions and our pre-Jeffries record, Isiah is .500 so far.

Also Holfresh, if all Dolan wants is the 8th seed in the playoffs and Isiah hasn't even been able to do that, then thats pretty damn sad. Such high expectations.

Do you have a job?

Arguing with you.

True...but my point was going to be you listen to your boss...having your own agenda gets you looking for another job....

Why would you keep a job where the boss wouldn't let you make your own decisions? Most winners would not. Isiah is a winner, not sure why this changed when he got here.

Hence, LB is a winner.

MRose, Big Turd will be all gone....So far we are well on our way...Keep going Zeke...

Fresh, I don't disagree with you, not in the slightest. I want Isiah to do well because I want to the Knicks to win a championship but MY opinion(and it's just that, my opinion) is that Isiah has had his chance to take the Knicks to the promised land and it's time for someone else to give it a shot.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not all about defending Isiah..Get another GM and Coach here and my pom poms will still be flying....But when did Isiah get a chance???

When he added 46 million dollars to the payroll and the team was still in the lottery for 2 straight years and from the looks of it, this year they would be too if the pick wasnt swapped with the Bulls.

I thought the poll was "fair and balanced" and quite scientific.

Whats funny is the Larry Brown supporters are the ones who brought up the consipracy that LB might be tanking on purpose to change the culture. Guys (like me)who didn't like what Brown was doing weren't even really thinking about that until those who supported Brown started to claim that he was tanking on purpose in order to change the culture. Others like me thought if that was the case then we didn't agree with what he was doing. He should have tried to win with what he had but yet still demanded the changes he wanted.

So all this thread is doing is making fun of those Larry Brown supporters conspiracy on Brown tanking the season to change the culture.

What's funny as well is that Isiah is changing the culture in terms of accountability...If he win a few games in a row to appease the fans that like mediocrity then he will be loved....

What you guys don't understand is even if the Knicks win 45 games this year....It's not good if our young players isn't improving and getting better....They need to be a foundation for this franchise to go forward...

Funny how the "Culturist" in this forum can't be found this year...

gee holfresh, how long does it take to build a .500 team? Why dont we start there?

Are you really going to tell me Isiah has done a good job? So instead of waiting for Layden's mess to come off the books he made is own mess only 10x worse. Great. Oh.. excuse me, we have Eddie 20 points a game Curry. What we now have is a veteran core of cast off players with LONGER deals than the players Layden left Isiah with.

But we are just waiting for them to all gell... excuse me while I tune out the boos, the double digit losses, the winning % in .300s, the 2 and whatever home record, the booing for LACK OF EFFORT, our franchise center being fat, our lottery pick going to Chicago, our team in cap hell for 3 more years, the 5 coaches in 3 years I have seen and the commitment to building around players who have done nothing to lose in the NBA.

Ok good... tune out all that and watch... we just need to gell, and he have great young players. Sure thing.

You guys always talking about all these Hall of Fame coaches Ishiah tossed away....How come they can't get any jobs elsewhere else...

Because thanks to Isiah, and his Golden Parachutes, those coaches are set up for the rest of their lives and don't have to coach if they don't want to.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
