Charles Smith was damaged goods when he got here.

In his first season, he did not start...Tony Campbell started in front of him.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Eddie's done this before. This is Eddie Curry in a nutshell. Anyone remember how he started the year? Lights out. Then he fizzled. Now he's scoring again. Next week he will fizzle. He's a fat guy that can finish with anyone in the league. Every other aspect of his game is poor. Curry has also had a lot of garbage points during this little run of his.

Back to Isiah

Guys keep talking about team ball, but mostly what I see is one on one guard play.

Guys bitched last year about Larry trying to get the team to play Larry ball, when instead they should play uptempo and have a "quick offense."

Now we see Isiah trying to get guys to do things they have never done, and they are playing poorly. But the rotations are more consistant, so there's that.

Yeah, it is a crazy amount of 1 on 1. Marbury gets the pick and roll down great and occasionally a gaurd penetrates to set up a player, but there's way too much one on one.

I dont understant why Isiah would put this system in. In some ways BooBury is right. The offense should be for Marbury, Nate, Crawford and Francis to slash/attack the rim and for Curry/Lee/Frye/Balkman to follow them to the glass. Do that about 100 times a game. We have guards that penetrate and bigs that can finish and crash the offensive glass. Where's the confusion as to what we should be doing?

How did Curry get his 4th qtr points last night? Off Crawford's penetration, off Marbury's penetration and once off Francis' penetration. How many times during that stretch was Curry fed in the post for him to make his own shot? Once? If that... he's good in motion. That feed him sheet has got to go. He's an offensive foul waiting to happen.

the real question is has any other coach done anything positive this year?

Pat Riley? Eddie Jordan? Scott Skiles? Lawrence Frank? Doc Rivers?

Looking at the first month and how Curry, Crawford and QRich are responding, as well as the contributions of David Lee and Renaldo Balkman and you could give a strong case for Isiah dong more than one positive thing for the knicks.

The most positive thing he has accomplished was summed up by Q Rich:
"We're still here," said Richardson to the New York Times. "We're still tight as a team. We haven't went our separate ways, anything like that. We're still together, still working hard."

Can that be enough in the first month of the season?

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

We are 6-11. Noone has done anything positive. We should not be happy with the team "playing as a team". This should be a given. It's time to get wins instead of using last year's debacle as some sort of baseline for improvement. Get over LB and raise your standards.

Did you feel that way last year because you wanted a youth movement? Or was it that Lee was a high energy player that you liked and wanted to start?
It was both. I hated seeing Rose and AD start ahead of Frye and Lee. Even if you think those guys needed some min, surely they didn't have to start ahead of him.

You felt that Frye or Lee should have started last year ahead of AD and next to Curry. Holy crap.

What's wrong with that? Frye and Lee are better on both ends of the court than Malik and AD. Malik and AD should just retire.

Did I say that, or are you just oversensitive to anything that doesn't say 6-11 is the greatest thing that's happened to us. There are moves in the right direction but 6-11 should not be applauded. Keep the heat on. Everyone raise the standards so that under .500 is not viewed as acceptable. You can support your team and still not be happy with this. As a matter of fact I find it weird that fans are happy with their teams being under .500. I'm happy that the Nets are under .500 because I'm not a fan of there's. I'm a fan of the Knicks so I'm not happy they are under .500. See how that works?

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I'm positive these are positives:

Knicks shoot 52 per cent as a team

Renaldo Balkman getting in Bron's face

Quentin Richardson finally over Brandy

Isiah not dissing Nate for being uber-Nate like "you know who" (mister "highlight reel" last season... but letting him know he messed up with respect

Steve Francis with 7 assists

That lazy, fat turd acquired for wasted high draft picks and all stars that cost the Knicks WAY too much... Eddy Curry, with five straight solid games

David Lee not turning the ball over six times

There is only 1 solid thing about Curry, and that is his overstuffed skin.

Solid? I don't mind being optimistic and looking that the good points but the Knicks did go 2-3 in that stretch. And Curry shot 50% from FT line and had 1 block, 1 steal and 3 assists. Dude averaged just over 7 rebounds. Solid Average performance.

bippity - if you watched the NBA carefully, you would critique more than simply the won-loss record in November.

The season has barely started and you're already in crybaby mode

How long are you supposed to wait before you allowed to start critiquing the team? It starts out with December, then when December comes, it becomes Januray, then when January comes it becomes the trade deadline, then when the trade deadline comes, its near the end of the season. The team is 6-11, thats NOT a cause for celebration.
