Imagine the gnashing of teeth and stunned silence in the press if Isiah continues to hold his young teams attention...

The so-called "swan song" could start sounding more like, "Go NY Go NY Go!"

wouldn't THAT be fun?

I don't know Earl, I'm ambivalent. If the Knicks keep on winning, I'm gonna miss communicating with so many of these guys...

oohah

BTW, you still haven't told us what "guys" you're referring to.

And I never will. They will identify themselves.

oohah

That's mighty big of you oohah.

I guess you can't be proven wrong, or right, for calling people out if you don't name them.

We'll all know who they are becuase we won't see them! You want me to name the Knicks roster for you too? You already know them!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

BTW, it's amusing how the same people who were preaching patience are the first to crow about the last 2 games and mock the ones who they thought weren't exhibiting patience.

I won't name names though.

You totally misunderstand. I am just commenting on the tumbleweed blowing through this forum when the Knicks win. Am I wrong? Or is it strangely inactive for such a big win? I am observing a pattern. After every loss I instantly see 5-10 threads ripping the usual suspects. The team wins big and there are like 3 posts. The board should be jumpin'! We need to call VH1, because "where are they now?"!

Crowing? Mocking? About what? Whom did I mock? About what did I crow? I am just calling out and hearing echoes, echoes, echoes...

3 sides to the coin. 1 side "homers". 1 side "haters". and 1 side neither.

when the knicks lose, it re-enforces the "haters" view so they create the threads.
when the knicks win, it re-enforces teh "homers" view so they create the threads. just look at tonight.

so i don't agree with your "complaint" about tumbleweeds.

Why do you automatically assume I was talking about you? I didn't name names.

This board was pretty quiet last weekend after the losses against the Spurs and Rockets.

Maybe it has something to do with it being weekend games. Maybe it has to do with the apathy that the Knicks have instilled in their fans because of their lack of success the last few years.

You got me! Quite the turnabout!

Not to my recollection.

Or maybe it is because too many of us are cuaght up in disliking individuals associated with the team and forgeting that we root for the TEAM!!!

The preaching of patience point of view carries more weight since the team has PROGRESSIVELY gotten better. Something that you'd expect if a group improves as they get more time together and overcome their issues. As they start to jell as a unit and learn the new system. What you're talking about is the early nature of the season and the small sampling of games, which is true, but you've TOTALLY missed the fact that we've been preaching patience to ALLOW the team a chance to get it together. PLUS the fact that the opening schedule was tough, especially for a team that is trying out new lineups and a new system under a new coach.

As the team has dealt with the rough schedule, tough competition and injuries as well, they've still shown a toughness that many of those who've been bashing the team ignored. You guys can't run and hide now that things are starting to look a bit more upbeat. Besides no one is saying that the team is all perfect now and is gonna run the table. We're just glad to see that the potential we saw in this team are starting to come true. The very things that many of you said this team couldn't do. And no we haven't forgotten all the nasty things you guys said either. All the JOKES you guys shared amongst each other. If you want to stay off the bandwagon and wait to see if the team can keep this up that reasonable, but if we want to crow a bit I think we're entitled to a little.

Just be happy about a good game while there is still hope in the season. Remember last year? 6 game win streak and I was battling the entire board because I said LB was not running the team properly before he let them run a little, and it was too late by the time he did. Then he stopped going to what was working, I said so, and had to battle the entire board again.

But I was still happy with the wins as we should all be. I am not saying that all opinions should be reversed because of a couple of wins. But be happy with the win!

nix - the knicks teams over the past 3 years have enjoyed success for short periods of time. but the bottom usually falls out at some point. as of december 31st 2005, 29 games into the season, we were 16-13 and ALL of us (except isles) were pumped about the team. but then the bottom completely fell out in january. so you can understand how one can be skeptical over any success shown by this team. you say we've progressively gotten better. but we've seen this all before.

the one thing this team has going for it is that they all seem to be on the same page with the coach. and the coach doesn't have to worry about the gm standing in the aisle. so maybe the bottom doesn't fall out this year? but these are the same group of players that quit last year b/c they didn't like the coach. so we'll see how it plays out this year.

They quit on and did not like the coach who quit on them and despised them before the season ever began! Unconscionable! If you believe they quit. Perhaps they were just utterly demoralized?

Fellows, forgive me if you find me obnoxious. I just think we should be happy and having a nice positive talk after a very encouraging game. I am crestfallen that so many of us are not participating after this win, what should be a nice day for us all.

If we are close to .500 at the deadline whats your confidence level Isiah will make a good trade?

Theres one little thing you forgot to take into account, and thats that we are all supposed to be KNICK FANS!!!!! Hater or Homer, we should all be excited about wins, no? Isn't that how it works when your a fan? You root for your team and you are happy when they win?

Well thats how it used to work, up until last season when LB made it ok to make your team lose to 'prove a point.'
And so many of you guys bought that line, so now you root against the team because Isiah is the anti-christ, Steph is the baby beezlebub, and anything good that happens is still bad because they're here and they had something to do with it. Thats alot of whats going on here.

I started to make a thread about how the boards are very quiet after wins, but after losses there a million thread about how there is nothing positive about this team and all of the guys suck, and cap space and blah blah blah. Thats the reality.

I don't know if he will make a trade. But if he does, I think it will be something like Francis + Crawford for Ray Allen, and I think that would be a good trade.

I don't have any idea about any smaller trades, but I think he likes most of these players.

Really what it is is that 99% of the people on this board overreact to every little thing that happens. No, the season is not over after 3 games. No, we can't be confident that we're in for smooth sailing after 2 blowout wins. yeesh. You'd think all that would be obvious, but apparently not.

not really. We have seen this team have short runs or great games here and there. Is it unfair to be jaded by Isiah's win totals, cap disasters, 5 coaches, waived players and Garden boos? The "blow it up" after 3 losses isnt about the 3 losses, its about seeing more of the same after 3 years.
